Worst endocrinologist I have ever seen. Pompous and denigrating. Has an office full of elderly patients he can sit in his chair and make money off of for giving them the same tests every three months and never offering any advice or anything on new medical developements.

I have tried to get an appt. with this doctor and the phone is disconnected. I came to this site to see if he had another number. He has disappeared. That made me happy to read all your reviews so I did not continue to look. I am sure all of you are happy to see him go.

I visited this office regularly for over a year and never even met Dr. Rees-Jones. I asked several times to have an appointment with him but I was only ever scheduled to meet with physician assistants who were not helpful or knowledgeable at all.

I have been going to Rees-Jones' office for 10+ years. I believe I actually saw the Dr. once or twice at first and was thrilled back then to get treatment. Since then I have seen a physician asst. or nurse practitioner every 6 months. I totally agree with others that you get textbook treatment for textbook problems. They took care of two issues with meds, but when I also complained of sleepiness throughout the day, they didn't know what to do and wrote it off. On one visit, I was told that I had an extremely low hormone level and to see a gynecologist. The gynecologist was floored that an endocrinologist didn't know the hormone level would be low due to the meds I was on. That office visit was a waste of time and money. After that I switched from Brian to Tammy. Tammy is always very nice, but nothing new ever comes from the visits. It's just to check blood tests and make them money - nothing I couldn't get from my regular doctor.

I went to this office for several years and wonder why I stayed so long. Each time, they were less and less helpful. The office is very inconvenient because they don't take credit cards and don't do reminder calls. Expect to see one of the insincere Nurse Practitioners who take the party line with treatment. If you have are a textbook case, with textbook symptoms and want textbook treatments, then this is the office for you. Anything outside of that, they are stumped. Dr. Rees-Jones himself takes a long time to get in with. I can understand this if there is knowledge on the other end. Why wait months to get the same answer the NP gives? Initially, I found him via 5280 Top Docs. However, it has been years of dissappointing thyroid treatment. I kept hoping for better. His reputation comes from serving on boards NOT from his superior patient care. I would look elsewhere as this practice's focus is about filling the pockets of an overrated doctor and staff.

i have been seeing dr. rees-jones for 15 years - and NEVER have had any of the problems some of the other patients have written about. i see the doctor each time; he spends more than enough time and his np's are always thorough. so what if the results are mailed - if i have a question or concern i call the office, and always get an answer. i trust dr. rees-jones implicitly. he has worked with me over the years to ensure that my thyroid is under control and that i feel well as a 'whole' person; not just a thyroid disease.

I am a type 1 diabetic and have been going to this office for approximately 2 years. I usually see the same NP each time I go. I noticed recently that he seemed very rushed, as if he was over booked for the day and needed to get to the next person (I'm usually only in there for 15 min max, not a very needy patient)... however he gave good treatment/advice/was very friendly. This past visit, however, I saw a different NP and I had the worst experiance I've ever had in my 16 years of seeing endochrinologists for my diabetes. She actually NEVER looked at my blood sugar readings, not one. She didn't even ask me how much insulin I was injecting, did not ask me about what I was eating, or anything that would be pertinant to a office visit for a type 1 diabetic. The visit lasted no longer than 5 minutes and she circled lab work she wanted me to have done. For all she knew, I could have never taken a blood sugar (I do 4+ readings/day). I will now be looking for a more thorough practice.

I was referred to RJ in 2004 when I was suffering from Graves Disease and *very* ill. I had a stack of books with me on our first visit - his attitude was like..."not another informed patient".. would I be trouble? He said there are no alternatives to drugs, surgery or nuking you. I never saw him again, but saw his NP Amy, who was genuinely warm, caring, and tried her best. At least she always ordered FT3, FT4, but unfortunately relied on TSH to medicate me. I was on PTU for a few months then asked for a CBC and told that it would mean I'd have to cut out or nuke my thyroid. Stupidly, I had it removed and the aftermath was really terrible! I almost went blind and gained 40# in 3 months. Since then I found out that most thyroid problems are due to lack of iodine and fluoride/bromide toxicity. This knowledge would have saved my thyroid. I fired RJ 12/2010 and see Dr Kayta Meier who is getting my meds to a level where I feel better. For better care see stopthethyroidmadness dot com

Dr.Rees-Jones office is focused on generating revenue rather than helping patients. First they do not accept credit cards for co-pays as a convenience to their customers. They will only speak to you directly when you are there for your paid visit. They do not call you with lab results, even if they've swung drastically. This is because you do not have a co-pay associated with the discussion. I would consider lab results from a visit included in that visit!! Additionally, you will never see the doctor - they have a number of NPs they encourage you to see so they don't have to pay an encdocrinologists salary, but they do get to collect specialist rates from their patients even though they're not even seeing a doctor, much less a specialist. 5280s sytem of selecting best doctors is seriously flawed in not considering patient feedback. When I tried to provide feedback to Tammy she hung up on me because they are not trying to help people - they just want your money.
