I lost 94 lbs in one year thanks to Dr. Snead! The first 2 weeks were hard but I was determined to succeed! This plan isn’t for everybody but it worked for me! Life took a crazy turn and I didn’t get to finish the program. I have gained back some weight and will be going back to lose what I gained and finish the program with his help! The pain in my body was dramatically less after I changed my eating habits but now the pains have returned. Time to get his help again!

Here's the honest to god truth....wish I would have never stepped foot into his office. I was very skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. I mean how hard can it be to eat only 400 calories per day? I did everything he told me to do...walked at least 30 min., drank my water and ate my one meal of 400 or less calories per day along with taking the daily appetite suppressant. I was faithful to the program and was very happy when I stepped on the scale at my one month appt and had lost 16 lbs in 4 weeks. After I was weighed, Kate took me to the room and took my blood pressure. It was normal. I mentioned to her that my heart rate has been over 100 and she preceded to tell me they don't typically monitor that. SERIOUSLY!? I guess I will follow-up with my primary doctor then. Anyways, Dr. Snead enters the room, sits down and I kid you not, the first words out of his mouth were, "looks like we have a cheater". There was no good job on your weight loss so far but instead accused me of cheating. I looked him straight in the eyes and said I have followed his program and have done everything he asked me to do including eating frozen meals of 400 or less calories per day. He said I was getting hidden calories from something and that I needed to follow his plan. So, because I didn't lose the 20 to 25 lbs based on his reports/stats from the last 20 years, this wasn't working for me and said I needed to drop my calories to under 300 per day and walked out of the room. After 6 weeks on the program and eating less than 300 calories per day, I started noticing bruises on my body and severe joint and muscle pain. I visited my primary provider and she immediately took me off the appetite suppressant and stated my body was reacting to the extreme dieting. I will never recommend this way of dieting to anyone and furthermore would never recommend this provider.

I have been seeing Dr Snead for about a month and a half now. During this time I have lost 60 lbs and will continue the program until I hit my goal of 100 lbs. I know there are lots of people who have had a bad experience with this Dr., but I assure you that if you follow the program that the pounds will come off! I know there will be an interesting transition off of the diet and am ready for that next challenge. I feel the minimal costs associated with this program will be more than worth it. Before meeting with Dr. Snead I did the reasearch, I saw that he was reprimanded and forced to pay a fine and do some re-education. That was quite a few years ago and it also states that he would lose his license if he didn't complete the requirements. Well, he is still in business...

In closing, he and his program may not be right for you, but for me it was just what I needed. If you are thinking of weight loss programs, I think you owe it to yourself to review all of your options before choosing. I feel comfortable with my decision in Dr. Snead's program.

This doctor was reprimanded by the Iowa Board of Medicine in 2010 for "failing to provide appropriate treatment to weight loss patients". He was found to be lacking medical knowledge, clinical reasoning and was told to complete an education plan. If this doesn't prove to you that he is incompetent and should not be promoting a very unhealthy, unsafe, and dangerous diet.. I don't know what will. It is sick that he still has a medical license and continues to "treat" patients.

This man should not be licensed. Four hundred calories and medication that is bad for your heart he's absolutely a quack...exercise healthy eating and change in lifestyle should be recommended but he tells you to starve yourself and take meds that are harmful..horrible experience. He should be ashamed of his "practice"

I am 20 years old. While in high school, I was always a normal weight. Once I graduated, I gained 50 lbs in a year. As Dr. Snead will tell you, everyone will tell you not to do this diet. People will say "it's not healthy"... But neither is being obese, which is who this diet it for, people with a BMI of 30 or higher. I started at 180 lbs at 5'4". Staying on the program as directed, I lost 26 lbs my first month and a total of 50 in three months. The phentermine effects everyone differently, but the only side affect i experienced was feeling cold all the time. The pill did it's job and I often had to remind myself to even eat the 400 calories. I felt motivated to get up and get things done. If you stick to your diet plan, and do the daily walks, you will see results! And with dr. Snead, you can always start over after you've started. He is very honest and will tell you how it is, but at that point you're not there to be babied, you're there for you,

I do not think this diet is completely healthy but that is why he encourages the use of multivitamins to supplement you for what you are lacking. Most people take a multivit with any diet plan or no diet plan, why? People say this is the unhealthy quick fix that won't work. That depends on you. This diet is about kicking those bad habits and trying to replace them with new ones.If you are a snacker that doesn't exercise and is tired all the time, this diet HELPS you to change those bad habits.Yes it is done quickly but most people become motivated to make changes when they SEE changes in themselves QUICK.Take the phentermine, you aren't hungry, you have energy to exercise, and you see results fast(motivation!).Phen is not a life long fix! The rest is up to you. You have to make the effort to exercise and choose not to eat that sugar you are craving. Even off phen you have to continue with those good habits.Have lost 15lbs in 1week continue to lose 1lb per day.
