Took my 3 year old daughter to see the doctor. Said her issues were her way of getting attention. Eventually saw a different doctor that said she had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Well, 30 years later, she still deals with her arthritis but no thank to this doctor. I wouldn’t take my dog to him.

McKerrell did shoulders not as bad as he thought! Then did both knees, one got progressively worse. When I went back he had a student with him, was worse treatment I have ever gotten. He said nothing that bad with knee, nothing he could do and sent me along my way. After about a month of severe pain I went back, he walked into the exam room and started berating me that he told me there's nothing wrong, nothing he can do blah blah and walked out of the office. I felt like a child, sat there wondering if he was going to return, was I to leave. what the hell? After 5 min I left. Went to family Dr. and requested an x ray which was done and showed there was significant change in my knee compared to last x ray!! Dr. wanted to make an other appoint. to see McKerrel and I said never, ever would I see him even if he was the last dr. on the planet. Dr. then pointed out if I wanted another dr I would have to go through the whole waiting game again!! So agreed to see McKerrell again, Appoint. was at hospital, he walks in, and starts talking like we're best buds! It was all I could do to not say something, it's a wonder I didn't bite my tongue off! He looks at x ray and says I need work done fast and gets me booked in a week! A F'in week, imagine that! Been 2 yrs and I continue to suffer in pain, worse than pre surgery. Heard he is considering retiring.................don't let the door hit you in the butt on the your way out! Also heard from an ortho nurse about is preference for doing 2 knees at a time which he wanted to do with me but I said no. She says stay away from them, many people have problems after, not worth it. For those who did, lucky you, you missed the odds, I feel bad for those that don't. I think the nurse said he is the only one that does double knee replacements.

Had bilateral knee replacement, Dr. Jeff McKerrell did a great job. I had some unrelated medical issues unrelated to the surgery during recovery , Dr McKerrel was very attentive and professional. Knees are working great now, and are pain free or the first time in years.

MCKERRELL was adamant that my wife do both knees at the same time, the IV needle was not inserted into a vein--they had to administer epinephrine twice during surgery because her hemoglobin dropped down into the seventies--they gave her NINE bags of saline solution and not one drop got to her bladder--it all went into her legs--they were one huge water blister and when she moved the skin broke and flooded the bed with nine bags of IV solution plus the meds she was supposed to receive during surgery, all because the girl in the OR refused to put the needle where ANN told her the the vein was, her reply was "oh I just prefer to put up here"-mid-forearm. She was in hospital eight days and was told you can go home if
you wanted (she definitely did want) but that she really wasn't ready to go anywhere. She was at home for "Eight days "taking all types of iron supplements, raisins, molasses and drinking Ensure day and night but she was still unable to sit up and hold her head off the table--and that girl is anything but a weakling. And to add injury to insult McKerrell made her left leg knock kneed--she was blessed with straightest legs I've ever seen and he made here knock kneed. Just recently an extended family member who is a General Practitioner told my wife at a family gathering that the medical profession has come out very strongly against doing both knees at the same time because the mortality rate is absolutely unacceptable. If that doesn't shake your confidence then I have no idea what would.

Dr McKerrell is a good surgeon but an extremely unpleasant human being. Don’t ask questions or you will be berated! Does not understand if his patient has any conditions other than the condition you saw him for. He did my knee replacement surgery 5 months ago and it is only now becoming functional. I would never have him do any additional surgery. Post operative care was poor.
