I'm exceptionally annoyed right now. I got a new ophthalmologist in 2009 as I suspected Dr. Sapp was going to retire. I tried several times to get my records sent to my new doctor and he also tried to get them. I wrote a letter to dr. sapp stating I would pay whatever fee was necessary to get my records sent. He never did send it to my new Doctor. Now I have called Dr. Sapp's office and there is a message saying you have to pay $40 to get your records transferred??? Why couldn't they simply have told me this back in early 2009? I would have paid the money and hopefully my records would have been sent. Now, my new Doctor will probably never get them. I agree with the person who posted this is a total joke!!

I have been seeing Dr. Sapp every year for about 27 years to monitor a chronic condition as well as regular eye exams and testing. He doesn't have a new modern office or tons of spaceage electronics, his staff do not smile alot but are very efficient and you often have to wait a while when you get there but having said all of that, he is knowledgeable and professional and provides excellent eye care.

doctor sapp has been seeing me for 36 years longer than most marriages, he was a god send to me when i was 19 many years with crooked eye, my mother took me to every specialist in halifax starting at 5 years old all the did was give me stronger glasses, i went to dr sapp reffered by a friend, he through my glasses out and said never to wwhere them again, he also said he could fix my crooked eye and that i had a catarac since birth he straightened they eye he removed the catarac and explained it all, i could see perfect and my eye was straight and i had no headaches. i know he studied under doctor keys who was the best surgeon at the time and then dr sapp took over, i have seen him every year he is always caring and thorough, he has been a great doctor for me i will hate to see him retire. so what his office is not modern and his receptionisst has been with him all these years that should tell you how good and nice he is. people come from far and wide for his expertise..

I take my mother to Dr. Sapp. I find him very sour and even rude. She is crippled and he does not even help her into the chair or out of it. He certainly shows no consideration for the elderly.

He has been my doctor for over 30 years, and I cannot imagine going to anyone else (though I know I will have to, someday soon!). His receptionist is traditional; there is no computer at her desk, but she is super organized and helpful to me. He has an abrupt manner, but I think he cares about his patients very much. He will give information and answer questions, but I always have to ask for information. There is no doubt that he knows his stuff, and is skillful in his profession, even if he does not seem interested in moving into 21st century with his equipment. My biggest complaint is the long waiting time in the waiting room, but over the years my family and I have come to accept this as part of the "experience" of being this Doctor's patient.

I only had one appointment but found him rude. His equipment hasn't changed in 30 years, I know newer is not necessarily better but come on. If we only had more specialists out there we could recommend that he retire as he doesn't seem to want to be there any more than his patients do.

Have been to this Dr. for 6 years. Outdated equipment, long wait in waiting room, staff very "stiff". Dr. was too quick and impatient with exam. Was given the wrong prescription. Dr. had no time for explanations re: change of prescriptions, drops, etc.
