Dr. Grimshaw and his team were absolutely amazing. An assisting doctor performed my leep, and Dr. Grimshaw held my hand the entire time and walked me through the procedure. The assisting nurse was so sweet.

I have severe health anxiety and had to have a leep today. Dr. Grimshaw was so amazing and made me feel so at ease and told me when we had the consult that he just knew I could do this. I would trust him 1 million more times with any procedure. To all of the ladies waiting for a leep, trust me it is easier than a biopsy and you are in very good hands. So blessed to have been under his care.

I was extremely nervous to have a colposcopy and was told it is incredibly uncomfortable. However, Dr. Grimshaw and his team made me feel very safe and comfortable, explained the procedure thoroughly and did the actually procedure efficiently and without any discomfort what so ever. He is very kind, professional and answered all questions I had. You are in good hands if you are referred to Dr. Grimshaw.

Dr. Robert Grimshaw is certainly (in my view and according to my experience) an excellent surgeon and doctor, in general; he is extremely professional, yet sympathetic and genuinely concerned about the patient. I had a partial hysterectomy performed by him, years ago, and since he has done the annual check with much attention and care. When my surgery was postponed the first time (because there were no nurses to assist him after 2:30 pm, on a Thursday), he came personally in the wait room - directly from the surgery room, in his surgery equipment and wearing the mask - to announce me and encourage me to prepare myself psychologically for the next appointment to have the surgery done. Every meeting with him has been a pleasure, he put me at ease and asked the most pertinent questions or answered mine. Some people (few, in fact), may find him blunt or rude; I believe he is just "direct", realistic, and prepares the patient for the worst, while he acts towards the best outcome. Doctors are not machines, they may be influenced by patients in their approach and tonality of the discussion. They should be appreciated for what they do and for saving our lives. I hear that Dr. Grimshaw is retiring, after over 20 years (or more?) of medical service in a field that is vital and extremely demanding. Have a well deserved, long, and wonderful retirement, Dr. Grimshaw! You will be missed and remembered for all your good deeds, as a top surgeon, as well as for your human quality. Daniela

My mother was diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer. Dr. Grimshaw performed her partial hysterectomy and reported back to us promptly following the surgery to inform us of his findings. While not the best news his delivery was so terrible and unsympathetic that I assumed he was having a long day. However, left with lots of unanswered questions we thought that the appointment we had today would clarify a few of them. Well we were wrong. He was completely blunt and matter of fact. He basically told my mother that she will have 3 more chemo attempts and after that so long. Nice knowing you. My mother has been so positive through this whole process and he told her she has nothing to be positive about (not in those words) but there was no mistaking what he meant. Following his doom and gloom outlook, my mother asked him about natural things she could do going forward after the chemo rounds regarding Alkaline, etc. With that he said that's nonsense and he wouldn't discuss it further and he stormed out of the room. Yes, he stormed out of the room. Our chins are still on the floor. For a professional doctor to be so incredibly rude and to offer a terminal patient nothing to be positive about is completely unprofessional. Unbelievable that there hasn't been more complaints however I believe because others outcomes were not terminal, they had a better encounter. Terrible experience, twice!

Dr Grimshaw did a total hysterectomy for me April 2011 for endometrial cancer and has been following me since that time. He constantly exceeds my expectations with his level of compassion, concern and professionalism. I worked for thirty years at the QE2 as a registered nurse and have seen the best and worst in the health care system...Dr Grimshaw is one of the best.
