Horrible experience. I went in for a specific reason, and instead of actually listening to what was going on, all she could do was focus on the fact that I'm overweight. I explained that the weight was from a thyroid issue that i was currently dealing with, with another doctor, yet she apparently didn't believe me. All she did was try and push weightloss surgery on me until I cried. She doesn't listen, and if you're carrying ANY extra weight, forget it. She can't and won't look past that and into the real problem. She was also very unhelpful when my husband wanted to get some bloodwork. We both knew something wasn't 100% with him, but she kept telling him that his body is changing due to aging. He is 28. We pushed, got the bloodwork and low and behold...we were right all along. She also argued with us and the computer when we said our son was 17 months old, because she believed he was only 13 months. We had to basically shout it at her. Just awful.

IMHO I feel rather fortunate to have Dr. Burget as my son's physician. If Nancy hadn't brought an issue to my attention NOW my son may have endured an extremely painful operation in his teens (bad syntax I know). Moreover, I find her inquisitive, knowledgeable, and thorough; willing to engage one on one without time constraints. Also courteous and empathetic...and as a result she is never on time (5 stars for punctuality reflective of care with each patient).BTW I'm a single dad w/severe ADHD & can be at times intense. My son is in good hands...thank you so much Nancy.

Nancy always seems to be in a great mood, despite the amount of patients she has seen before me. I've been seeing Nancy now for over 15 years and she is now my son's physician as well. She has always be informative and helpful. My only complaint would be the wait time getting into the office upon arrival.

Be careful,if you want something done you need to be very aggressive in your request. I asked for a PSA test as part of my physical, she did not want to due to her concern over false positives. The test is not covered by OHIP so I was paying anyway, I had to go back a 2nd time in order to get her to do it. Nancy does seem to be not on top of things, I am sure the patient load is high.

Yes, she listens, takes notes, however, if you are complaining about certain symptoms that may even point to something serious, for some reason she takes the long way around and worries about ruling out less serious illnesses. Then, your symptoms persist and you keep havig to go in about the sypmptoms that won't go away. Sometimes this involves seeing other specialists which means before you get to the root of the problem, months will have passed. My problems never really get resolved and then I feel embarassed to go in again because I feel like I am a complainer so I end up going out of town to other doctors to get help. Also, for some reason, they are very conservative when it comes to testing . If you have bloating that doesn't go away, they (Doctor & nurse practitioners) just rule it out as digestive/diet issues without considering the myriads of other illnesses(some potentially fatal) this could be a symptom of.I don't know, are they just too busy?

I had Dr Burget for 17 yrs of my life and she helped me through the worst times. She is a doctor to my family also. When I was going through depression she counseled me through it until I got a counselor. She is a great doctor. She has also helped out my family in times of need. Keep up the good work
