I had an in-person appointment. The preparation was extensive and took a lot of staff time and mine: phone, email, mail. Most of the points in the questionnaire, I was impressed with: how did you manage your allergy before this appointment?!!!!
He-he, somehow and sometimes, thank-goodness I didn't die!
Ok, appointment. Waiting time in the office was just 30 minutes, not bad after being on the waiting list for 7 months.
Dr. Belda darted back and forth without even looking at his own-my questionnaire.
He asked a few questions completely outside of the topic of my needs, for example: any family history with allergy :) and does your skin turn red under hot water (I wonder whose skin does not redden?)?!
With my long-standing allergies to pollen and grasses, I'm used to dealing with it. But there were new symptoms and reactions outside of the bloom season. So, I wanted to be tested for food allergies. And that's why I turned to a professional.
The doctor did a test for 10 types of nuts and 10 types of seafood and 40 test which I really did not need.
And delivered a brilliant verdict: this is not a food allergy! You are allergic to grass, dirt, and horses! And you have very sensitive skin. Take Claritin.
When I asked: maybe your list doesn't cover my allergic products, Dr. Belda told me that the appointment was over and I was free to go.

I have no words! Just two questions: why does OHIP and the appropriate medical associations allow such a doctor to work and spend our taxes on his salary?! And another BIG question: why do patients have to wait for years to meet a specialist, manage the sickness themselves and do not have a choice between real professionals?

I had both a telephone apt and an in person apt. This guy needs to wake up during the telephone call, what we discussed didn't happen at the clinic. I wanted to be tested for dust and pet allergies, but he sent me for all food testing, and when I went to the in person apt, he wasn't even there so I wasted all this time waiting for this appointment (over a year) to not get it done. The staff that was supposed to do my test refused to get a hold of him even though I was there to see him.

I had a chance to talk to dr Antonio Belda early this evening. I was very happy he called me regardless my severe allergy that start few weeks ago. I have to say he is an amazing ,very knowledgeable, wonderful, very professional, caring, doctor I ever spoke on the phone. He took his time to listen my problems from the beginning, he explained to me what is going on and what needs to be done ASAP to help me with the hives issues. I highly recommend him. I truly wish that we have more doctors like him in London are, who truly do care about the new or old patience. He is not like some doctors here in London who does not want to listen or help you with the health issues. He certainly has a morals, value, knowledge, and very patient with to explain the problems, and willing to help in any way .

Dr. Belda is absolutely fantastic. We saw him at the London office and took the time to chat with us. We never felt rushed and he was able to help us.

my daughter saw Dr. Belda today and he was excellent. My daughter has been struggling with allergies and he was patient and answered all our questions. When we left we feel as if we had a plan that would help her after seeing many doctors that couldnt.

I have been seeing Dr. Belda since the 1980's and has always been great. Now our son goes to him. And he makes our son feel at ease and we never have to wait long. Our son has a sever tree nut allergy and has been most helpful in teaching us about food allergies. Giving us booklets to being home. And even answered questions when my sister in law came to see how the tests are done. He always answers my questions . Very friendly and his staff is great too. Our son looks forward to going every year.

Our appointment was at his Belleville clinic. Staff was ok. Dr. Belda’s services were completely inadequate and his ability to dispense any kind useful medical care inept. I wish that I had checked his background before our visit; as I’ve since found, not only these scary and very accurate reviews; I was horrified to find that he had been reprimanded by the Ontario Board of Physicians for what most people would call a history of dangerous prescription fraud. I think OHIP should get refunds for his lack of service. Lastly, I can’t believe that I referred to him a doctor; he in no way deserves that title or the privileges that come with it and, hope that you were able to find this information before it was too late.

i mean, he's the only guy available in the Quinte area. his staff is nice enough. you do get tested for specific proteins requested ...but he really doesn't explain the results in any detail , hands you a script for an epipen and sends you on your way. You feel in the dark...
