Dr Rebeyka did surgery on my little girl with Tetralogy of Fallot the 1st time at 4 days old!!! I am from southern AB so Edmonton seemed so far away with 3 other kids not in school yet!! He has now done surgery on my daughter 3 times! This man is actually a HERO…which my husband during one of these surgeries chased Dr Rebeyka down the hall just to shake his hand & thank him for saving our little girl!!! He told Dr Rebeyka he was his HERO and he truly is!!! Without his skill and excellent abilities my daughter would not be here!!! She was female athlete of her amazing school & now a nurse! She is now almost 26 yrs old & in labour today with her 2nd little girl!! I cannot thank him enough for moving here to Edmonton saving me from a huge travel bill & inconvenience of Toronto! My life is indebted to him& I am so very grateful for such a kind amazing man!!!! I’m sure as all others also feel the same!!! We are so lucky to have him here in Alberta!!!

My daughter was born on August 25, 1993 at the then Childrens's Hospital of Buffalo (New York). She remained blue and was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries. Having lost our pediatric cardio thoracic surgeon several years prior to her birth, we had to leave the area for her surgery. We were given three choices for considersation and chose Hosptal for Sick Children. By the "luck of the draw" as we were told, Dr. Rebeyka was assinged to our daughter. On August 31, 1993 Dr. Rebeykah successfully performed an arterial switch on our daughter, who on the day of surgery weighed in at 5 lbs 11 oz. It was the 28th time arterial switch had been performed (prior procedure for TGA was the Mustard Procedure). Our daughter is 28 years old and getting married on September 25, 2021 - one month from today. To say that I have thought of Dr. Rebeyka often and kept him in my prayers is an understatement. I will be thinking of him on her wedding day and thanking God for this incredible individual who because of his dedication to his profession, his compassion and his surgical skills. Not only will I be thinking of him, I will mention him during the reception. Without Dr. Rebeyka, September 25, 1993 would have been just another day. May God bless him and his family.

Dr. Rebeyka saved my life. I was born with TGA and had multiple holes in my heart. Dr. Rebeyka operated on me at the Stollery Children's hospital in Edmonton Alberta in April of 2002. I am now 18 almost 19 and living a very healthy and happy life all thanks to Dr. Rebeyka. He is literally a life saver and I couldn't thank him enough!

Dr. Rebeyka operated on my 12 year old Son, Michael in October, 1990 to REPAIR THE MITRAL VALVE. The first time that this type of Surgery was successfully completed on a child, My Son is now 41 year's old. I always look back to the hard work that Dr. Rebeyka and his Team did, to save my Son's life. One would be hard-pressed to find a more competent, caring Doctor.

27 years ago Dr. Rebeyka Operated on our new born little girl at Toronto Hospital for Sick Children. Tanya was born with Half a heart { Uni-ventricular Pulmonary Stenosis}the Medical term. Dr. Rebeyka and his Team performed a BT shunt, a Glen and then a Fontan. over the next 3 years We got to know him well. He is an amazing doctor and an even more amazing Human. Through many years and few complications Tanya has been A shiny Star we would certainly have lost long ago without this mans Dedication, Compassion and surgical Skill.. We Never Doubted him as he took time to explained in GREAT detail each Surgery before and after the Procedures. Then in true Hero fashion without waiting for many praises of gratitude he was off to another hospital out west to continue to save children there. We never did see him again to thank him, and have never forgotten him or the debt we can never repay. Our son was born with AVSD, he fixed him too well, now he is 12 and unstoppable. Waiting for your kid's surgery can be daunting, but at the end, only the result counts. Good luck to you all

I was born with Pulmonary Atresia and a VSD which is now fixed. Dr. Rebeyka was there for me and did open heart surgeries on me when I was a few days old, 4 months old and when I was 8. I owe everything to him and his staff, I am now 16, fully functioning and ready for anything due to his efforts, it is hard to put into words how thankful I am.

In 2006 he did an open heart surgery on my 12 day old baby girl, who also has Dextrocardia. It was a long surgery but I knew she was in the best hands. She is now almost 14 and her heart is fantastic
