When I first met with him, he listened to my problems, and immediately suggested a condition and treatment that I could have there in his office. Other than that, he didn't speak to me much at the initial consultation. He did perform a colonoscopy on me to make an accurate diagnosis, but the whole procedure was unsettling. First, the preparation went VERY poorly. When I drank the first bottle of laxative, I didn't hold it down. That was forgivable, since I had never had a colonoscopy before. But then he suggested 2 other types of laxatives and gave me instructions on how to take them, but he gave me WAY too much in too short a period of time, to the point that even after it went all the way through my system, I threw up a SECOND time the night before the procedure!! I called his answering service to see if he still wanted me to come in, but he didn't call back until 4 and a half hours later! When I went to the hospital for the procedure, they didn't actually do it until about 1 and a half hours after my scheduled appointment time. The whole process was very disjointed, disorganized, and the nurses were having confusion among themselves, which didn't sit well with me. There was barely any follow-up from him, except for one brief phone call, but he didn't even come to see me in the recovery room to talk to me before I left the hospital. After it was over, I was STILL having effects from the laxatives up until this morning, which was TWO days after I stopped taking them!!! Overall, it was a bad experience. I will see him for my follow-up appointment in three weeks, but I'm not sure I am going to let him treat me after that, if I don't like what he has to say. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend Dr. Cohen to anyone!

I went for treatment in january 2014 for hepatis C and discussed the matter and was told that that a new drug (ribuvarin) was developed but not approved yet. After I researched the drug, I found out that it had been approved in 2013. He immediately scheduled for other tests and when I met him again there was no talk of treatment or hepatitis but made it very plain that golf season looks promising ! Thanks for listening.

He's got an outgoing personality, but I question some of his basic knowledge. He told me that some of my lifestyle choices was dangerous, and when asked for elaboration he beat around the bush until I let the issue go.

Dr. Cohen works well with patients if you do exactly as he says. His office staff is understaffed and his records system needs updating because requests for records & faxes sent/received by that office can take multiple requests before it is completed.
