No nonsense approach , smart, empathetic and straight shooter - One of the best doctors we have had the "pleasure" of caring for us.

I had a poor surgery by Buckley (rather by Buckley's students) at the miserable Foothills Hospital, they left my leg over 3 cms longer, and a pin sticking out of my hip and painfully rubbing my muscles. Buckley denied this and dragged me painfully on top of some books he placed on the floor, pushing my feet there to show me I was lying. During another appointment, while waiting for Buckley to see me, a Fellow physician came inside the room and looked at my X-Rays. He told me I was in pain because of that pin sticking out and rubbing my muscles. When Buckley came to my room and I told him that, he turned to the Fellow physician and told him: "Never ever say this, because we will end up in court." This happened several years ago, when I broke my hip. He is a mediocre third class surgeon. I am having another surgery in the next year, but this time with a first class surgeon. Thank goodness for patients' reviews so we can choose wisely.

A total rectal orifice with halitosis that could stop the Queen Mary. A crap attitude, an abrupt uncaring manner and a total egomaniac. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Not professional and is very condescending. He allowed himself a very inappropriate personal comment on me for caring for my family too much just because I "play a role". His glance on the x-rays was shorter than a blink of an eye just to tell us that the condition is the same and our concerns of quickly and deeply deteriorating condition are not grounded. Didn't help at all.

Dr. Buckley fixed my blown-out Achilles years ago. So many people in the threads below complain of his rude bedside manner. I found Dr Buckley to be explicit and to the point. "You do this, you can expect this result". I listened to people in other rooms complaining that he wasn't listening to there concerns, or that he didn't necessarily agree with Physio. Quite frankly I'm with the Doctor. I tried Physio, all I received was a huge bill with little results. Buckley's exercise plan was comprehensive and effective. If you follow his word to the point you will experience incredible results. Don't look for a counsellor when you go to visit. He's far to busy for that. 1000 percent recommend Dr. Buckley.

He should retire. A lot of his advice is old school. He told me I shouldn't bother with physiotherapy. I did physiotherapy for 3 years almost every day to rehab a major tib/fib fracture. Only after 3.5 years do I have the strength and mobility back in my knee and ankle. If you break a leg bad, spend 80% of your day for the first 3 months rehabing it. If you can afford it, skip work, take leave or disability and focus 100% on rehabing your leg for the first 6 - 8 months. Get the leg elevated every day for multiple hours, with an ice machine on it. Ignore what this guy has to say. He clearly has never broken a leg, he would probably be a better doctor if he had.

I have a brittle bone disease and needed a rod replaced in my left femur. He put one in that was about an inch too long, leading to infection and another surgery. When I saw him about this bc the incision wasn't healing, he told me that the rod was $250 and that wasn't worth my quality of life. He said this to a young, disabled woman in front of his interns and they laughed in my face. I ended up having to quit school bc of the infection. A few years later, my hip broke. Unfortunately he was the only doc around. He removed my hip, because he had a ski trip planned and didn't want to do a proper surgery. I had to have an entire hip replacement as a result of his negligence. Not only is he rude, he's incompetent as well. DO NOT SEE HIM.

Rude, arrogant and condescending. Should retire so no one else has to tolerate his ignorant attitude!

He's always miserable. Needs to improve his bedside manner. Very rude and condescending. Should have picked a different career.
