As I am sure everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I have been seeing Dr. Oppman since he began at Granger medical over 10 yrs ago.. I was actually told about him by the old ask a nurse line that we use to have here in town.. he knows each and every one of my family members by name and would know us if we were out of his office as well. He was spot on with every diagnosis we have ever had to deal with. He diagnosed me with RA and he knew right off what to look for and took time and care in telling me of my options and referring me onto a Rheumatologist in the South Bend Clinic..He is a very smart man , calm and dedicated to his patients and I always look forward to seeing his nurse Erin as well.. If I couldn't see him I wouldn't know where to go or who else to see, that to me is worth a million to have faith and respect for your doctor.

I told this doctor for 5+ years what I had and he kept telling me I didn't have this disease. Finally I went to Cleveland Clinic and they diagnosed me with the exact disease. If you are looking for a Dr. Keep Looking!

A personable Dr. who seems concerned about his patients. Diagnostic skills have not been good in my case. Had to go elsewhere to get diagnosed.

l agree with the other ratings. He does spend time, and does care. However, again his memory/review of cases history was very lacking. I gave a sheet with History of illness, symptoms, new medications dates started, dates discontinued old medications. He did not look at those nor the cardiologists written report...he glanced and stated "that looks good". He did not focus on the underlying initial issue of respiratory difficulties. I'll still be looking for a doc to replace my doc who had a stroke.

I have a different opinion of Oppman. He is a nice guy....but treats patients like they don't know anything. He is afraid to think outside the box. He tends to think in terms of "simplest cause" when he should look at all possibilities. He would not help me for a treatment I sought and was experienced with. Then he failed to diagnose the cause of a persistant cough. I have to move on to a more dynamic doctor. Safe and slow methods he uses and a patient tends to spend more money and suffer a longer period of time. He also did not have good recall on patient history.

I've been with Dr. Oppman for over ten years. He's smart, kind and friendly. He listens and responds. He helped my family deal with my mother's cancer and my father's stroke over the years. A good man.

I have been a patient with Dr. Oppman for over 10 years and have never been disappointed. He's, by far the best. He takes the time to explain and talk with you about any concerns and I believe he truly cares about each of his patients. I'd like to applaud his entire staff at Granger Family Medical. They are truly exceptional!
