I saw Dr. Strong at the Cleveland Clinic. 40 years of Crohn's, over 40 surgeries (mostly with Dr
Fazio), currently have a K-pouch. Short gut syndrome, only 70 cm of small bowel remains. Dr. Strong may possess good technical skills as a colorectal surgeon, but it is difficult to assess because it is overshadowed by his loathsome bedside manner. He shows no compassion for his patients, barely speaks, cannot communicate effectively . It comes off as arrogant and uncaring. Dr. Strong and his patients would likely benefit significantly if part of his training required him to spend 2 weeks as a patient. Doctors should provide more than technical skills. Humane treatment and compassion are also part of a good doctors duties
