I know a patient of Dr. Brent Armstrong (psychiatrist) who has been madly in love with the good doctor while he’s been treating her for the past few decades. I think it’s an inappropriate relationship. And their visits and phone calls are really just personal social visits & calls. It’s time to set her straight. He’s not of any help. She’s a terrible awful person.

I will not bother using the star system as this Doctor is off the charts. I was introduced to Dr. A in the early 90’s. I was an admittedly difficult patient for any one to take on. I have just happened on to this site, as I was researching the number of psychiatrists in our city and how many are leaving. Safe to say I have been a patient of the good doctor for nearly 30 years.
I have not gone through all the reviews as some have stopped me in my tracks. This is not the Dr. Brent J Armstrong I have known of the past or come to know. I am an articulate person, yet I can not articulate how important a physician like Dr. A is to our city and community. If you have preconceived notions on expectations, or if your going to try to out wit someone who is there to help you, you are going to loose. If you are going to seek help with the wrong attitude, you are going to loose. If you think you are the doctor and he is the patient, you are going to loose. The precious, intense time, spent on my journey with this doctor has been so rewarding and beneficial to the quality of my life, I had to reach out to the afflicted. Yes, he is old school. Yes, he will challenge. No, he will not kiss your rear to accommodate your way or the hiway. He is a consummate professional, who has shaped me into a person with a purpose and great sense of self esteem and value. There are no overnight cures. He is not a pill pusher, and he has one of the best lending ears in the industry. If you open your close mindedness you too can achieve what many others have with Dr. Armstrong. If you are an open minded individual, you will succeed and he will help you meet your mental health goals. There is nothing wrong with living in a trailer park, but there is something wrong with living amongst your filth while doing so. In the first 10 years we worked on sorting me and figuring me out. The next decade was spent on using the building blocks that got me out of the trailer park and onto an acreage with a bungalow. Here I would hide and try and work on myself and with the help of Dr. A, create breakthroughs and milestones. The last decade I spent enjoying the 7th year in my 6000 square foot home where I continue to improve my journey.
I went from unemployable, unmanageable and least most likely to succeed to an able bodied member of our Winnipeg community and it was a struggle. The house means nothing, the journey was everything. The growth, the healing, the groups he set up for me, the change of my attitude. He was there for me when my family was unable or couldn’t be. I am who I am, I am what I am and I’m damn proud BJ WAS BY MY SIDE ALL THE WAY. KLM
ps. Wendy was instrumental in bringing me back in the early days when I was not in the right frame of mind. Thank you both for all you gave and sacrificed for my betterment.

Best psychiatrist in Manitoba. Extremely knowledgeable. He takes the time to listen to your concerns. He is not afraid to challenge your behavior and tell it like it is. He is very straightforward and direct, and does not sugarcoat things. I really like how professional he is and personable. He never dismisses your questions, and always makes sure you understand everything he is saying. Extremely good physician.

He is the most experienced psychiatrist in Winnipeg. He has helped me so much I could not put it into words. Very caring, good listening skills, good advice. I would have most likely have been dead several times if not for him. I think very highly of him and would never want to talk to anyone else beyond him. Thank you Dr. Armstrong. You are great and appreciated.

Dr Armstrong took me on after seeing me at my worst. I owe a lot of gratitude to him. He has made a difference in my life. He challenges me and I feel comfortable being brutally honest if I need too, He’s give me the stability I truly needed. He may be harsh at times but it’s for the better. He truly cares.

He's a cocky liar said he was changing my medications but lied about its effects straight to my face. He doesn't care about his patients well being he's just pushing medications. Beware of tardive dyskinesia when taking anti phycotics for a prolonged amount of time it can become permanent. Hope this helps you find the proper doctor you need.
