Very direct and prifessional! He tells you what you need to hear, not necessarily what you may want to hear!

Dr. deHoll has performed 2 surgeries on me. One was a triple cervical fusion and the other was a Lumbar Micro Discectomy for Sciatica. Both were a complete success. All office visits were timely and all the staff at Sumter Orthopedics are excellent and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr deHoll to anyone.

Terrible bedside manner. Looked at me like I was an idiot b/c my W. Comp sent me to him. "So what, am I supposed to operate and just make it all better?!" Direct quote from this surgeon. He walked out and I sat there, waiting on him. I had to wander around the hall until I found a nurse who informed me that he was done with me. I see a trend in how his W.C. patients are treated. His staff was incredibley nice. He should take a lesson from them. I got the impression that he was smart, but also smart alec. I've heard mixed reviews from others. He looked at my MRI and said he didn't have anything to compare it to. When I told him I had an MRI done shortly before my accident, he asked for it. Told him I didn't have it b/c no one mentioned anything about the previous MRI. I even asked before hand on the phone. After this, he didn't bring it up again. I think he's intelligent in certain areas, but he needs to remember his patients are suffering and are not doctors themslves. Not going back.

Dr. DeHoll (Sumter) surgery was very successful. I have no more pain and able to walk without pain in my back and leg. He took me in surgery next day after seeing me. He explained the procedure clearly and did a great job. I would highly recommend him to anyone with back problems. The back has to be the worst pain to tolerate.

Dr. Deholl did a double discectomy and fusion of my cervical spine. he seemed genuine and caring. And i noticed he is a stickler for his orders being follwed. However, i was referred back to him after 3 yrs. at which point, the first words out of his mouyh were,"i see you let your hair grow out" he then sit in a chair and looked at xrays taken immediately after the surgery 3 ears earlier. he said it all looks good to me and he walked out of the room.i sat there for a few minutes thinking he was coming back but he didnt. when i asked his nurse she said i was done. i told her that the pain clinic had released me and i needed meds or something. he came back in and stood looking me in the eye and said he wouldnt prescribe anything because i had a pain contract and again walked out of the room. he could have at least called the pain center and followed up on my complaint. now, he has given a deposition and stated he sees no reason why i couldnt lift up to 100 lbs.

I had a spinal surgery by Dr. Deholl I had a herniated disk resulting in a spinal fusion. I spent 18 days in the hospital. The staff were helpful, and he was wonderful. His initial demeanor is very profressional and he warms up to you after a few visits. If I ever had back surgery again, I wouldn't want any other doctor, but him.

Dr deHoll's professionalism and direct communication is regreshing. He diagnosed and corrected an ongoing health issue that other doctors in the Columbia are missed or refused to aknowledge. I am relatively pain free and have regained some feeling on my left side. His staff is also responsive and caring.

I thought I was doing the right thing. Now I'm not so sure. I had spinal surgery on his recomendation and the symptoms I'd hoped to be rid of are not only still there, but worse than before. Additionally I have constant pain in my neck and cannot sleep confortably in any position. I wish I'd read these ratings before having this surgery.
