He has been my GP for about 2 years. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and since surgery is coming up I called to ask him if he could refer me to another surgeon for a second opinion. First thing out of his mouth was that I go through with the surgery and then get a 2nd opinion afterwards to assess how it went, the entire discussion went nowhere. Another time when I ask about ways to alleviate peri menopausal night sweats, he told me to not eat too much cheese. I have not felt taken seriously or given any workable knowledge. Do NOT recommend at all.

He gave me the wrong information. Thank god I went to another walk in clinic and the doctor was able to help me. I do NOT recommend Dr. Renee. He is misinformed and rude when corrected.

This doctor is unkempt and unclean. He does not wash his hands and esp during Covid times and coming off of a pandemic I did not feel safe in there. He was also rude abrupt and dismissive. How is this guy a doctor?

Dr. Sylvain Rene: Dr.Rene he is very helpful immediately suggests any special treatment needed or recommends other specialists. My experience in person or by phone has been proper,positive very beneficial to my medical needs. I have been a patient for about 6 years since I moved in the area city central... I'm always looked after very well by his staff medical assistant also. Sometimes you have to waite a little at the clinic office obviously he is busy because he is a very good Dr. Knowledgeable about other special needs as well, yes he is to the point very specific and Yes he has the medical assistant review all of your medical facts carefully,also always helpful to direct you to your Imaging X-rays or other needs such as prescriptions etc. Dr.Sylvain Rene is very caring Yes he does have a good sense of your immediate needs, Yes he is very to the point and relates to one medical specific need at the time. He has always helped my various medical issues and he is terrific. His assistant is very good she is bilingual in Spanish and English also French language, for some patients with language difference it is helpful special Seniors. I recommend this Dr. 100%.

Dr Rene was amazing via a telephone consult . I was having difficulty breathing and did not want to go to the emergency department (obviously because of Covid). He listened to my concerns ordered the appropriate medications and his staff had the medication faxed to the pharmacy in minutes. I cannot Thank both Dr. Rene and his staff enough.

This is the best doctor I have ever had. He literally caught a severe life-threatening condition before it got worse, and as a result, saved my life.

Dr Rene is thorough, and uses a combination of diagnostic questions, and testing to thoroughly examine me.

He listens and is caring. The time and attention he took during my visit ended up saving my life. Had he not asked so many questions and insisted

Yes he has a visual disability, but his assistant is there to accommodate that. I personally think he is smart to refer me to a specialist when necessary to do so.

I have been a patient for +20 years and he has always been helpful and courteous. He takes his time with his patients and understand their concerns (in person and over the phone). Has been a doctor for many years and is extremely knowledgeable. He knows many professionals and specialists in Toronto and will refer you to the best as required.

Definitely the worst doctor I have ever met with at Davisville Medical Clinic. My experience was totally negative. Dr. Rene Sylvain was a terrible doctor. He was completely unhelpful and unwilling to even answer my questions. Don't waste your time.

Dr Rene has been our family doctor since 1995 and I am really surprised by the comments I see as those must be related to a different person. Over the last 25 years he has been by my husband, me and our 2 kids (grown-up by now!) at any time we needed medical expertise. His care often went beyond the call of duty as my daughter would call his office from University when she went to McGill and he would make the time to take the call, would provide immediate advice to address the issue and would refer her to a local specialist in Montreal for medical help! We have all had multiple injuries over time and Dr Rene made the time to provide adequate assessment and direct us to the relevant specialists, including to surgical help when it was needed. I am in my 50-ties now and although a lot has changed in his practice during the last 25 years, his care for his patients and his medical expertise have remained the permanent reasons he remained our doctor during all this years.
