I had worked for this employer for over 15 months then was wrongfully discharged from my position there for a mistake that was not my fault. I am NOT writing this post out of anger but because mothers and children should not be treated by a physician like Dr. Segall. When interviewing with Dr. Segall and her husband, I was extremely ecstatic to be given an opportunity to work there since I am pursing a career with mothers and children. It was basically a dream job for me before finishing school. During my time employed there, SEVEN employees quit from how poorly she treats her employees regardless of how hard we worked. After I was discharged, every single one of my coworkers left as well. She was left without any employers and was forced to allow a student complete required hours with her with placing her on payroll. I was not a perfect employee and made mistakes that I took accountability for. However, when a mistake was done on her part, she was quick to blame her employers, patients, or other doctor offices. She never ONCE took accountability for her actions. She is a MANIPULATIVE person that will force you to come to her office just to charge you copays. For new mothers, she will enter a diagnosis code for EVERY single question or comment you bring up to her which then accumulates into a bill for the parents. As a new parent, you would think that you can ask as many questions as you would like to your baby's doctor. Nope. Not with Dr.Segall. Example: Upon arrival or after checking out the patient, I informed two new parents that they had a balance for their account. When asked what the charges were for, I explained it to them. They informed me that she did not even consult them on some or the issues and that those "diagnosis" should not be there. Once the patient left, she would inform us to let billing answer the questions since she has already trained them to lie for her and make up excuses. She has performed tests on patients that are not covered by their insurance which leaves the parents with thousand dollar bills. We had a couple of families who left her practice because of services she provided and were not covered by that patient's insurance. She will say anything and do everything in her power to get you to come into the office. If a parent called frustrated and requested to speak with her or just wanted to speak to the doctor, she would never return the call to the patient. She would always send the message to me to take care of. We had been short staffed for the majority of my time working there. We had one person running in the back and one person up front to train. Parents would wait almost two hours to be seen. Also, my grandmother passed away on April 15th, 2019. She had the audacity to call me a liar when informing her. She NEVER once came up to me to give her condolences. A few months before, when her mother passed away, I went out of my way to buy a big card for her and have her patients sign them to give her something when she returned.
It's really aggravating to see physicians like Dr. Segall who really don't care about her patients but more so on the income she is receiving. I understand that she has worked hard to get where she is but those children and mothers health are more important that the income that is coming in. Please reconsider choosing her as your child's physician. She is manipulative and a fraud. I am sure I'm going to get backlash from her office for this comment and accuse me of lying and blaming me for speaking my truth. I have plenty of text messages from employees and patient's mothers indicating that I am not at fault that I am willing to share with anyone.
