Its a puppy mill. When you go to the hospital there are patients every where.
He barely talks to you during the surgery so you are not always ready for the pain of the incision He somehow managed to stab the top of eyeball. I could not see after the surgery I had to get him to look at my eye again. Next day I went see him and was told to return in 2 weeks and a month after that again. My eye has been giving me pain and my vision is now bad in that eye which was my good eye. I had the surgery on my other eye first and that went perfectly. I went back to see him recently he was not there. I told his assistant my eye still hurts and my vision worse than before its very blurred and has obstruction in the center and is slow to focus it is difficult to drive because i keep seeing object that are not there. It has been a few weeks and nobody has called me. Its like when you buy a car they take your money happily but dont care about after sales service or helping you with your problem. I am looking to another eye surgeon and hope he can repair my sight and stop my eye pains.
I just read his reviews from when he was in Edmonton Alberta. They were similar to my experiences. I have never written a bad Review.
But I felt the need this time. Very Unimpressed with his Lack of Compassion. And how he just dismisses what is said to him.

Tried to book my appointment to see him, been seeing him for a long time, and they told me he is leaving. Not particularly impressed with how he went about this, not giving proper notice for his patients. And the office manager is completely useless. She looks like she needs a constant vacation or maybe a day at the spa. They need to get a new office manager.

Found out that he is leaving and moving to BC in the new year. No idea of who will be taking over and seeing his patients, cancelling days so you can’t get in to see him before he leaves and his assistant is horrible, rude and short with patients. I was not impressed and neither was my family. Happy to go elsewhere

Dr. Heston opthamologist is very good and detailed oriented doctor. It's worth waiting for him even couple hours. Dr. Heston means 2 hrs. Waiting. So mentally prepare yourself without giving him bad remarks. Awesome doctor.

Office staff is slow, can't get records released in a timely manner, perhaps this is a result of our archaic health system.

Dr. Heston is very knowledgeable and an excellent surgeon. He did strabismus surgery on my son and cataract surgery on my mother. He is always really far behind and the staff takes the brunt of the complaints but they have nothing to do with it. I heard other patients treating them horribly and I was astonished. If you have a problem with how long you wait, talk to the doctor!

Absolutely arrogant, his time is worth money so he over books patients his nurse described the practice as :add ins" waited a long time for the doctor to show up but left because no idea when he would show up. Covid practices were not in effect. Nurse gave me eye paddle and cleaned it with a Kleenex, touched my head with hand wearing no glove then touched a bottle to give me eye drops. How many other people 's head were touched and contaminated the bottle? How many other people touched the eye paddle and was not sanitized? Why did the nurse not wear gloves? Will not be going back to this doctor.

not sure why appointments are made. A walk in clinic is faster. Two hours in a waiting room is ridiculous. Staff was quite snarky and very unprofessional. No real answers about my condition from the doctor. Time for some other clinic that's a little more caring and interested in helping you!

I was surprised that with Covid-19 more care was not taken. Staff did not practise social distancing, 4 people in a small room at a time is unacceptable even if they were wearing mask. No questions asked when you checked in, have you been out of the country, do you have any symptoms etc. That has been normal with other clinic and they make you wait in your car until you are called in. The waiting room was very full but at least they separated the chairs. Thankfully I wore a mask that day, other people were not.

I was deeply dissatisfied with this doctor and the help that he gave our family member who has inflammation in his eye -- I question his ethics.
