Dr. Mattar is an incredible doctor. He has delivered 2 of my children and it was a wonderful experience both times!! I would trust him with my life. He is kind, gentle and very knowledgeable. Thank you Dr. Mattar!!!!

I had a very sudden lower intestinal attack. Laying in the floor I didn't think I'd make it to a hospital. I was going into shock. A friend got me to emergency where the staff took immediate and very good care of me. While trying to figure out the cause I was sent for several tests. The whole time everyone was happy to explain what and why we were doing what we were doing, When Dr. Mattar arrived he listened carefully and reassured my fears. He then kept me under careful watch and repeated more tests. The whole time trying to put the puzzle together. He then very clearly and gently explained that he needed to go in laparoscopicly to determine the problem. He did and it turned out to be a kink in the lower intestine which he was able to straighten out at the same time. He followed up with me after and kept me overnight for observation. I was well taken care of far away from home and was ready to go the day after surgery. Dr. Mattar is a kind and gentle man that is as good as any top rated doctor in Toronto.
People should not judge a man for where he chooses to live or practice. This community is very lucky indeed to have him.

My mother had what should have been a simple surgery. We his bedside manner appalling. Very dismissive of family concerns and had no problem making my very aged parents wait hours and hours for him and did not offer one word of apology or explanation. I believe it is time for him to retire the knife. The balance of his team was excellent.

I can not say enough about how good my experience was with both Dr. Mattar and his staff. I am naturally fearful of any medical procedure and they made me feel so comfortable and safe in their hands. Dr. Mattar spent a long time talking to me and explaining every little thing. And also has a kind sense of humour. I've now been to the office 4 times and twice operated on and have had nothing but wonderful things to report. We are so lucky to have this Doctor and his dedicated staff in Simcoe. Thank you Dr. Mattar for being my doctor.

I will never let this doctor touch me again, He cut my daughter on the face during my C section she required stitches I never got a sorry he just kept coming up with excuses as why it might've happened, I had a midwife with m second child and the midwife was shocked and said no way you should ever go so deep as to cut a baby. This is not the first baby he has cut, a girl I know was cut above the eye when she was taken by c section. My daughter will forever have a scar on her face because of this butcher.

Very unpleased with the care I received from this doctor.
Performed bi-lateral wedge resection on both big toes...which I have severe ingrown toe nails.
I have been told now that the procedure he performed is very "old-school" rarely used, and its very traumatic to the feet. two months after healing.....and still very sensitive tissue. I have been told by a second doctor that I still have severely ingrown toe nails at the base of nail and that he really did nothing for me....feeling very frustrated and no longer trust doctors. I need to have surgery again , this surgery is not fully covered for some reason and I now have to pay 500$ out of my own pocket to fix this problem. My feet bring me great stress relief through exercising and it is most frustrating to not be able to do that. Feeling disappointed

Not only does dr mattar care about his patience,his office staff is the best. Trust me they can get things done. Dr Mattar is the old fashioned country dr and he puts the city ones to shame

Dr. Mattar is an AMAZING doctor. He has operated on my me and my family many times. I tell everyone I meet how wonderful he is. He is caring, and compassionate and has excellent bedside manner. I wouldn't dare go to any other doctor - he is simply the best! You can tell Dr. mattar really loves his job. Simcoe is very fortunate to have such a wonderful man looking after the community!
