All three pregnancies were handled by him. Very sweet and has good intentions.

Terrible service from both the doctor and the staff. I unfortunately got assigned to this doctor on call when in the hospital - I never would have visited his office after having read the terrible online reviews he has received. They're spot on - lack of professionalism on his behalf and that of his staff. Due to the terrible service from the office staff and my previous experiences with the doctor while in the hospital, I refused further follow-up care, choosing to return to my regular OB/Gyn. The office staff was very upset by this decision and Dr. Brewer himself got on the phone to talk to me. I requested that my file be faxed to my doctor. My recommendation: look for a doctor who is professional, up-to-speed on current medical research and trends, and will treat you with dignity.

I was having severe morning sickness for 3 days that was not being controlled with meds. I called to make an appt informing the office of this and the fact that I was dehydrated. I was told to come in an hour later. When I arrived the receptionist asked if I peed in a cup. I explained that I couldn't. After waiting a half hour the receptionist asked if I peed in a cup and when I told her no she stated that I would not be brought back until I left a sample. I explained that I was dehydrated and could not go. She went on to say they only needed a drop. I tried to go but as expected I could not go (not even a drop). I told the receptionist this who stated she would tell the nurse. I sat there for a total of a hour and a half before I finally left. I ended up having to go to the ER to get IV fluids and meds. I was so furious with how I was treated that I have now changed doctors.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHYSICIAN TO ANYONE, not even a dog!! Probably the least empathetic person I have ever met. Why he decided to become an OBGYN is beyond me. Refused to see me when I was having anxiety issues, and gave me the impression he did not care. Refused to advise on medication related maters. Refused to advise if he would even be in town when my c-section was scheduled. Office staff rude beyond measure. Nurses do not wear gloves during blood draws, and touch injection site with bare hands prior to needle sticks to verify vein location... I left and never went back.

I started seeing Dr. Brewer for my first (current) pregnancy. The first appt. he seemed like he was just going through the motions of an appointment, wasnt at ALL personable and honestly I found him to be rude. He offered no alternative to my anxiety medication or suboxine, just that I HAD TO STOP taking my meds. I saw him two more times, trying to see it his way. (b/c it is his way or no way) and I couldnt get past his narrow minded/ one track thinking. Hes a very umm "Conventional" doctor to say the least and if you are on any meds and feel you need to continue for for health or want to have a midwife or anything not in his way of thinking, its just out of the question. SO do NOT go to him. He takes 30-45mins to see patients and I left crying everytime I saw him. I switched to another doctor at 6 months pregnant and I have never felt better about myself or my unborn daughter! Ladies, do not make this same mistake I did. If u dont feel right, switch doctors and do it fast!!

Dr. Brewer handled my first pregnancy wonderfully, starting off it was fairly normal no complications, when gest. diabeties arose he was good about asking about it, when pre-eclampsia arose and then preterm labor he put me on hospital bedrest, made sure to talk to the head of bloomington hospital getting a second opinion himself on my care (deciding to transfer to riley or not). He didn't actually deliver the baby (out of town the day my water broke at 34 weeks) but did do my follow ups. Overall he has been a wonderful doctor never badgering about weight or concerns I had. Wait times in office were sometimes long,other times they got me in right away but he was on-call alot too. Staff was always friendly and helpful.

I saw Dr. Brewer the other day after about a year. When I was pregnant he sent me to a specialist because I had had a leap and cryo done before and he was concerned about me delivering early. I had a full exam every two weeks the entire time I was pregnant even though the specialist in Indy said that it was not necessary. When I went in this last time I was the first patient checked in and waited in the exam room for forty five minutes before he came in. When he did he went on a tangent about my smoking and how he thinks it's great that smokers pay a higher insurance rate and that fat people can't help that their fat but smoker do it to themselves. I told him that I have panic attacks and wasn't sure if I could quit and wondered if a anti anxiety medication would help (because I want to quit) and he told me that was just an excuse and wouldn't discuss it. Lots more to the story but not enough room so he is a horrible doctor and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

I first saw Dr. Brewer at my mother's recommendation when I became pregnant. When I voiced to Dr. Brewer that I wished to have a natural, medication-free childbirth (granted no complications arose, in which case I was totally open to whatever was best for my child) he informed me that I would he would start me on pitocin as soon as I was admitted to the hospital for labor regardless of the circumstances (I was told this at 18 weeks, mind you) and if I did not like that, to find someone else. My husband was livid, and to say the least, we found someone else. He had also told us that his c-section rate and induction rate were of no concern to us. Ridiculous!

He can be a very nice doctor when he is in a good mood, but if you get him on a stressful day he's completely different. He is very set in his views, and there really isn't anyway to get him to do things ur way. I was very set on a natural birth, and he was ok with trying it but seemed very skeptical. I was in labor for 22 hours with no pain medication and never dialited much. We finally did the c-section, and found my daughters cord was tightly wrapped around her throat 3 times. She was already a large baby, I was 2 weeks overdue and for someone reason he wanted me to wait another week. If she continued to get bigger I really wonder if something could have happened and we wouldn't know. He refused to do an ultrasound pass my 20 week ultrasound, and if he had done one closer to the due date we would have found this. I will say the c-section was as easy as possible, he's very good at it. If that is what u want, then he's a great dr. for you.

Dr.Brewer saved my life this year. He diagnosed cervical cancer early enough to be cured. My family and I will forever be grateful to him. Twice he referred me to specialists when he felt it was in my best interest. He always listens, explains in a way I can understand. I am never rushed, his staff is excellent. He is a kind compassionate human being as well as a very knowledgable doctor.
