My appointment with Dr. Powers was on March 22, 2023. X-rays were taken at Dr. Powers Port St. Lucie practice. Dr. Powers met with me, showed me the X-rays and recommended total knee replacement. He left the room and his scheduler came into the room for scheduling. I was informed that the next available date was in December, 2023. After expressing my surprise at the nine month wait, I was informed that i could have the surgery in May or June, 2023 if I pay and out-of -pocket ES CONCIERGE FEE OF $6500.00! In disbelief and anger I said i'm not going to pay to bump ahead of those who could not afford to pay, relegating them to endure pain and discomfort for nine more months. Dr. Powers may be a good surgeon, but is this ethical, moral, or is it merely opportunistic greed? I am fearful of what the future holds for those needing medical treatments but are bumped to the back of the line by more wealthy patients. In my opinion Dr. Powers, this is absolutely shameless and disgraceful

Mark Powers is the absolute best orthopaedic doctor you could use. Very good staff. Everyone willing to answer any questions you may have.
