I have been seeing Dr. Mathews for many years. He is always professional, understanding and takes as much time as needed. I like that he is the only doctor in the practice and offers very individualized care.

I don't get all the bad reviews. I'm having my second child and I switched doctors at 24 weeks because my first OBGyN did not show to have any knowledge or cared about what happened during my first pregnancy. I had a placenta abruption with the first and she did not care about it. Also had placenta previa with this one and she could not explain what it meant. So I changed to Dr Mathews as a recommendation from a friend of mine. I don't regret it so far they are caring and answer all my questions. They take me seriously no matter if its a false alarm and I've been through many scare situations this pregnancy.

Went to have pregnancy confirmed, and the nurse asked me if I was going to keep the baby!!! (this was also the same doc that deliver my previous baby) I decided to look for a new doc, but before I could find a new one, I miscarried and had to go back to Dr. Mathews. While I was there, miscarrying my child in their waiting room, with my husband and son with me, they asked me for my co-pay that wasn't paid from the previous appt. (Which i had asked if I owed them anything at that appt, and was told no). After telling that my husband would come back with a check, when I was done miscarrying, they finally got me to an exam room, and was bleeding very heavily, I miscarried my child in that room, AND saw my baby. While the nurse was helping to clean me up, and get me out of my clothes, she threw my baby into the biohazard garbage can. When I said something, I was told that I was "just a distraught mother." I never got to bury my child.

I been using Dr. Matthews for 6 yrs. His very professional and always taken the time to answer all of my questions. Before Dr. Matthews I used a female OB because I was not comfortable having a male doctor. I have since only used Dr. Matthews and will continue to use as long as I can. In my opinion he is very caring and professional and his staff at the office is great.

Very unpleasant experience, to say the least. Office manager was very rude and confrontational. I waited one and a half hours just to meet with the Doctor for 2 minutes. He was not friendly, did not explain anything, did not ask if I had any questions or concerns. It looked like he just wanted to rush me out of his office bc I was his last patient for the day. If you are looking for someone who cares and gives you more time and attention, look elsewhere.

Run... That's all I can say. If this is your frist baby. Please for the sake of my child who is no longer with us. Find a practice with multiple physicans. Or a brilliant staff to remind him or her of patients whereabouts. Find someone with time to dedicate to you. If you have multiple children he may work for you. His office didn't even check on me while in the hospital. They didn't even know my child passed away but were calling to book my next appointment. After they found out dr. matthews didn't even call me when he knew this was my first child. Like i said if you have other children this office may work for you. Having your first baby try somewhere else

Dr. Mathews' has been my OBGYN for 3 years already and he is excellent. He not only cares about doing my annual check up’s but he cares about my overall health. He takes his time and listens and is great at answering questions. I never feel rushed or like I am just another number. Dr. Mathews’ is excellent!

This is my first child and any questions I need answered i can count on Dr.M or one of his nurses to answer them for me without any attitude, Now his lab lady was very rude at first. I simply put her in her place and told her how she is treating isn't acceptable and i never had another problem with her again.

Seems like a decent guy, but maybe not the best OB. Scheduled my wife to be induced for a VBAC...which if he had carried through with it would have probably been malpractice (and might have killed my wife). Apparently he made the decision without reviewing the chart (or looking at the scar). When he realized the mistake, he rescheduled for a C-Section, but wouldn't admit the error. During the C-Section he removed a cyst, which of course is great, but my wife would have appreciated being informed of that during the surgery, since she was awake. We found out only after the fact when we got the pathology results. Baby and mom did fine, and he ended up doing the right thing, but we switched OB/GYN since we lost trust. He does not carry malpractice insurance, a fact we didn't fully appreciate until it was too late. My wife and I can not recommend him.

I don't understand some of the other reviews. Dr. Mathews has been the best doctor I have EVER had. If he practiced in all areas of medicine, I would go to him. He has delivered all 3 of my children and I will continue to see him as long as I can.
