I became a patient of Dr. John Hermansdorfer (Dr. H) in January of this year when my local doctor referred me due to a shoulder injury. I couldn’t be more impressed with him, his entire staff, the surgical center, and the Coastline therapy center where Dr. H and team referred me for healing after surgery. In short, every part of my journey from diagnosis to healing has been amazing. This entire team cares for you, and about you. This was my first surgery and I was terrified to even see the Dr. After meeting Dr. H and discussing my injury, he did everything he could to avoid the surgery including several weeks of therapy to see if this would self-rectify the problem. How many surgeons would do this in advance of surgery? My experience with his staff was just as wonderful with Meg being the right hand PA of the doctor. If you have a question, just call, she is there to listen attentively, and respond to anything you ask. I never felt like they didn’t care, nor that there was no time for me. I always received a timely call back with every message I would leave if I didn’t get through directly. I felt like Meg cared for me like I was a family member versus a patient. THAT is how much they all care.
In the Coastline Therapy office, Terry Johnson and Laura didn’t just give me therapy to heal my injury, but instead gave me valuable information to keep me strong and healthy for life. They taught me not only how to stretch and strengthen after the surgery, but also how to remain strong and healthy again, for life, sending me home with the knowledge and tools I need to continue my personal therapy at home. In partnering with Dr. H, they met and discussed each case as the healing progressed week after week. I know they have many patients together but for me, they always made me feel like I was the only one that mattered. The environment they foster in the therapy center (which is conveniently right next to Dr. H’s office) is priceless. I went in with trepidation, and came out happy and healed, stronger, and yes much wiser about my own body. The entire team made the experience fun and rewarding. I watched many patients hobble in with walkers, canes, and limbs in slings and also watched as they progressed and walked out without the crutches needed to walk in the first time.
Dr. Hermansdorfer, Meg, Tiffany, the entire surgical center, my Coastline therapists Terry and Laura, and even Bernie the receptionist each made me feel like I was their only patient. I have never met a more caring team that this group. If you want excellent care, look no further, you have found the right team with Dr. H and his associates.

I highly recommend Dr. Hermasdorfer. He is a blessed man. He has gotten me through 2 car accidents. He did work on my knee and then repairs on my rotator cuff and bicep and wrist. He is a very honest and good hearted man who cares about repairing your body back to working order. He takes time to make the best choices possible before doing any surgery. He is a great Doctor with a great bed side manner. I put a 3 on being on time, but I need to say in the end you will see that he is a 5. He makes sure that he takes the best care possible for his patients and sometimes that causes him to run behind. HE WILL RUN BEHIND FOR YOU AND ME. Thats what makes him a #5 all around

A great hand doctor in all respects. He really gets to know you. Doesn't BS. Avoids surgery and looks for alternatives, but a great surgeon. He has done 3 operations on my hands and elbows, all without complications. Very knowledgeable. Had elbow surgery, went to work the next day. On an Ulner release, Workman's Comp said most people are out 6 weeks or more, I stayed out 2. I'm pushing weights again.
