He was very condescending and rude about my treatment plan. He responded to my questions with sarcasm and rhetorical questions to discourage me from taking an active part in my recover. During my second appointment with him he did not read my x-ray correctly. He tried to tell me my fracture was in a completely different place from where it actually was. When I notified him where the fracture actually is and that it can be seen in the x-ray, he ignored me and unnecessarily squeezed the joint. He asked me “Do you have a problem?” when I reacted in pain and I left in more pain than I arrived with. I do not know the reason for this treatment but each interaction I have had with him has been upsetting and hurtful.

I was very pleased with my carpel tunnel surgery experience. Simple, straight forward process and I have little or no scar. It is so wonderful to not have my hand go numb any more. His staff is helpful as well even when I had to have my leave paperwork filled out twice due to an extended leave. I would highly recommend Dr. Christensen.

His professionalism is lacking. When a family member asked if he could repeat himself due to mumbles from his mask he erupted in anger and changed his demeanor towards persistently demeaning them. They went on their phone rather than confront the doctor after he left and Alan confronts him and refused to continue patient care due to the supposed behavior of them. They asked Alan if they would like them to leave politely and Alan continued to badger them. He walked out of the room and Alan pursued him and threatened to not perform the surgery. Avoid at all cost as he is extremely rude and unprofessional with dealing with the elderly and their family members. Worst bed side manners I have ever seen a doctor have.

Dr. Christensen performed hand surgery in December 2020. His knowledge of my particular disorder guided me to choose him for the surgery. He was very professional and his office staff was kind and attentive to all my needs.

Dr. Christenson is incredibly rude and does not allow his patients to ask questions. He told me to "be quiet" more than once when I tried to ask a simple question about my care. He also chose to not operate - even though surgery was needed - and did not give me a choice.

He failed to order the correct films to identify the fracture in my shoulder, even though the films from the hospital clearly showed it. He insisted it was sprained and not broken, even though the symptoms clearly indicated a fracture. When I asked to have an additional x-ray at a different angle, he dismissed me and ignored me.

Worst of all, I know have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I told Christenson what I had, and he ignored me. Because he ignores his patients and does not listen to them, I was not able to get the care I needed when I needed it. Avoid at all costs.

Almost 29 years ago, in April 1990, at M.D.Malcolm Grow USAF Medical Center, Andrews AFB, MD, I first met Dr. Alan W. Christensen. Then a Major in the USAF, he repaired my left hand after a firing pin malfunction on a 9mm handgun sent a round through it and into my 3rd metacarpal, leaving a very large gun shot wound along its path and a lot of pain. I was flown from Loring AFB, Maine to Andrews AFB at that time because I was told that the United States Air Force's best hand surgeon performed surgery at that facility, and that if anyone was going to be able to save my hand, it would indeed be him. Dr. Christensen's skill and assiduous professional oversight not only saw my hand repaired, but set the stage for the physical therapy that would find me regaining full use of it in short order, guaranteeing me a life wherein I am actually never made mindful of it, unless the subject comes up in discussion. Dr. Christensen is a personal hero to me to that end. He is a great man in whom I am eternally mindful and perpetually thankful. Hand issues?... This guy is the best. Thank you Sir!

I have been a patient of Dr. Christensen for over 5 years. I had Carpal Tunnel in my left hand and it was keeping me from getting a good nights sleep and bothered me throughout the day. On 12/20/2018 he preformed surgery to repair my hand. What a difference it has made. The first night I slept the entire night. My only regret is I didn't have the surgery years earlier. His clinical staff is always professional, courteous, and cheerful. The surgical Team was top notch. All answered my numerous questions and took great care of me. Dr. Christensen is the only Orthopedic Surgeon that I feel comfortable with preforming this type of surgery on me. I strongly recommend him if you are considering this procedure.

Thanks to Dr. Christensen and his entire Team!
