Unhappy experiences, rude, incredibly dismissive, not professional. Avoid him once you could.

Always have a good and informative meeting with Jason. Of course sometimes he's late or even unavailable because he is delivering a baby (! of course!). But other wise I get the facts, the prognosis, and pro-active treatment, tests, etc. Have thoroughly valued having him for our family doc.

All I can say is that we have had Jason as our family doctor for over 20 years, and wouldn't want anyone else. He has been great, sympathetic, pro-active, you name it. However, he calls a spade a spade, and doesn't sugar-coat diagnoses or situations. I suspect a lot of peoiple don't want to hear that sort of frank comments. I'll take them anyday. Great doctor.

So darn rude. Does not listen. It is his way or you are out. Hurt my knee and wanted an MRI, he told me I was too old, no surgeon would look at me. I was 75. Went to see Dr.Porter ,had knee replacement. Not too old. Not the first time Dr. OConnell has screwed up.

Open, direct communication - no sugar coating. I would not want any other family doctor.
BTW, this rating site is flawed given responses can be anonymous, so don't read a lot into the negative spewing.

I found Dr. O'Connell to be dismissive, arrogant, condescending and ultimately negligent. I had an injury that eventually needed surgery and he was the first doctor I saw. He did not even touch me, but gave me an initial diagnosis without getting out of his chair that I was not injured and should go home. I have since dropped him as my doctor and do not currently have a doctor and consider myself better off. I am in pain regularly and my physical/athletic abilities are compromised and I am waiting for an assessment to see if this will be a disability. I am a very fit and active person, and my life has changed and it was avoidable.

I’ve had Dr. Jason O’Connell as a doctor for nine years. He is a great doctor! His receptionist is very kind. It’s pretty hard to see make an appointment as he’s always busy, which is totally understandable. He’s open and communicates awesome. He is a great doctor.

I was had Dr O'Connell as my doctor for about 20 years? I like his openess and direct communication. Challenging to get appointments sometimes but that is the modern stressed system. FRont end staff are friendly.

I was very unhappy with the care I got with Dr. O’Connell. Like so many others, I found him to be incredibly dismissive of my concerns and consistently disregard what I had to say. Very often I felt that he had made up his mind and in my appointments went out of his way to make me feel like an idiot. I completely disagree that that he “tells you the truth”. He was one of the only doctors taking expecting mothers but many things felt like he was just talking in circles and didn’t really know what he was talking about. Also, now that I have moved care providers for this pregnancy, I learned that the information he told me was completely incorrect and he was dishonest about the information and tests he provided. Would suggest that everyone do their own research on what he says.
