Very condescending. Doesn't listen. Told me to stop interrupting until she was done.... Never did get to ask my questions. She was surprised when I reminded her I had a chronic autoimmune disease. Then found it in my records and did a shrug and "oh well". Would love to find a different doctor.

She does not listen well. And if you can't do that, why bother being a doctor that sees patients? She would allow only one health situation to be discussed, despite being there for a yearly check-up (you'd think she might ask how I have been health-wise in the past year). She interrupted me continually. I felt rushed. I'm finding someone else. I don't trust her judgement.

The very worst doctor I have ever seen. I came in because I was extremely depressed and needed help. It was an issue I was already embarrassed about and she literally rolled her eyes at me while I was talking! She was very abrupt, and interrupted me several times. Also, my mom came with me and she started talking to my mom about me and my problems while I was sitting right there like I was five! (I'm 21, btw). I told her I wasn't on birth control (I'm married and practice NFP) and she treated me like I was so stupid and clueless for not being on BC. She left me in the room 2 for 20 minutes each time to go see other patients. She also told me depression wans't her specialty, and she didn't mess around with sleep medications. Excuse me, aren't you a doctor?! She was just overall awful, pretty useless, made me feel uncomfortable, was not caring, and downright rude. I would not recommend her to anyone! Also trying to figure out insurance with her office is a nightmare, and I had BC/BS.

Worst treatment by a doctor ever. I went in, waited for half an hour (the office was empty), and was immediately informed that she wouldn't re-fill my prescription (did not request or need a refill), won't give me referrals, and wouldn't do any correspondence regarding my case. When I informed her that the reason I was there had nothing to with anything she mentioned, she decided to hear my symptoms to see if she would treat me. I was diagnosed with COPD and handed a brochure. There were x-rays and blood tests ordered and I have had to leave a messages for results which were returned by an assistant, so there was no opportunity to ask additional questions without a follow up call from another assistant. There are plenty of doctors in Tucson that know how to treat patients and your money or your insurance money is better spent elsewhere.

Care of Diabetes patients is not her specialty, granted, but calling retinopathy "diabetes in the eye" is a gross over simplification. She was entirely too eager to prescribe blood pressure meds for a mild issue, even at the objections of the side effects being too much. I prefer a doctor who will discuss the issues with you, not one that chastises you with fear-talk about what could happen. This is why I haven't been back to her in nearly a year and also why I'm switching.

Great doctor, keeps excellent track of test scores etc., always on time for appointments, very knowledgable. Two negatives I can report is that she can be very confrontational and never has the same office staff when I go to my appointments. If you don't mind that than I would recommend her.

I went to Dr. Valdecanas for one thing and was VERY specific about not having insurance. She only put the one thing on the bill for lab but then ordered multiple tests so that the lab bill far exceeded her bill. The test I wanted was only $39 but she ordered other that I did not want or ask for. When I told her that I did not authorize them she said I did authorize them by coming to her. She has no idea how hard it was to pay for her visit much less unwanted tests. Not a good communicator which is crucial in a good doctor.
