Like several others, Brems convinced me I needed cataract surgery, first surgery and YAG laser light treatment I also felt he really did not care about the fact that the second surgery also a failure. Went back twice, once with Brems once with Bates, Bates raised the alarm of a possible detached retina, wanted to wait and see. No follow up. After two failed attempts, and his general attitude of just wants money. I went to the office and was told that I could not have my records, that they would fax them to me after they were reviewed. At this point I did not want him to touch any records that my insurance company and myself wanted as is. After disrupting his office they called the police on me. I do not know what will happen with my eye now. I now see the value of always getting a second opinion.

Dr. is very helpful! After my surgery he called me that night at home to make sure every thing was going well. Great eyeglass selection in Scottsdale and the optician is so wonderful!

I have been going to Dr. Brems for years and he is one of the best docs I know. After my cataract surgery, he called me at home to see how I was feeling and make sure I was recovering well; I really appreciated his concern. Generally, the staff is very kind and helpful whenever I come for an appointment. Admittedly, he can run a little behind, but I’ll gladly wait for his expertise. I don’t trust my eyes to anyone else and I recommend him to all my family and friends.

I needed cataract surgery and came to Dr. Brems for a second look. I am so grateful that I did. Dr. Brems found 2 Retinal tears that the first Ophthalmologist missed. If I would have had my cataracts fixed by any other Doctor I would be blind! Dr. Brems had his staff make an appointment with the Retinal specialist for the same day to fix my tears. Dr. Brems took the time to explain to me in detail the risks associated with the surgery due to my health risks, he also took extra care when explaining to my spouse what was happening with me. I have been so impressed with this Doctor and his work ethic. He called me the night after surgery to check up on my progress and comfort. He also made me feel very important when he took time out of his weekend to see me as a follow up on a Saturday. Dr. Brems is a kind a caring man that is beyond knowledgeable in his field of expertise! I cannot thank this man enough!

This was easily the worst eye exam I have ever had done. I had tried avoiding for the longest time getting an eye doctor in AZ, as I still visited my hometown enough to make going to my eye MD there easy enough. My appointment that usually takes 20-30 minutes took over 2 HOURS! This consisted of waiting 30+ minutes to get called into a room, getting a poor vision exam, doctor putting eyedrops in, putting me back in the waiting room for another 30+ minutes, getting told my eyes are fine and then being provided a new vision script that was not needed. Only at that point am I told I owe an additional $85 on top of copay for a "contact fitting" that consisted of a piece of paper with my script. Overall, Dr. Brem did not say 2 words to me, his staff did not have a broad knowledge base, and there were more patients walking in and out of that office within 2 hours than any doctor could reasonably actually see, treat and diagnose. I do not recommend them and I will not be returning there!

Told me I needed cataract surgery within a year, so I agreed to do left eye. Wanted long distance vision but he gave me reading lens! Never told me there was a lens that was good for NEAR and FAR! I found out later...too late. He is very impatient and loses his temper. He is always in a hurry and does not give good instructions. His demeanor is that of someone about to explode and trying to control his temper. After four prescriptions for glasses so I can see when I drive, I am using my old pair because his prescription glasses do not work properly and I get eyestrain after an hour or more, and cannot even focus through them any more. I feel he is in a hurry to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible and patients are just stepping stones or cows to milk. A year and a half after cataract surgery and a follow-up to remove fog, I am miserable with that eye. Will never go back.

Told I had to pay an additional $85. I don't think so. First thing was He could do a laser beam on eyes to prevent glaucoma. Will never go back will tell every one that I know
