Best doctor ever. Very thought and knowledgeable. Sometimes the wait time is not on time but that’s how life works. I would wait to see this doctor and never complain. I have been seeing Dr Mare for at least a decade and feel very lucky as I trust him literally with my life.

Rude, dismissive, and a pill pusher in my case. He had no idea what was causing my issues so kept prescribing antibiotics and muscle relaxants. Told me diet wouldn't affect my health issues and many other red flag things. He actually walked out of the office on me once when I was asking him questions. I've never felt so disrespected. Never went to see him again and since then other MDs I've gone to see were so much more knowledgable and patient. You have been warned.

I and my children have been extremely well cared for by Dr. Mare and the full team at the clinic for over 10 years. He is a highly skilled clinician and keeps up to date with evidenced based practice and medical research. He was also prompt with identifying when we needed additional specialist care and always followed up with any referrals or treatment. He is also human, and has apologized when there has been any delay in his care caused by attending to critically ill patients who he would, of course, slip in, when necessary....that is what an excellent doctor does for everyone...they care for the sickest people first but they care for everyone. thank you Dr. Mare for your continued good manners, sense of humor and consistent medical service.

I’m very disappointed in Dr. Mare. Two weeks ago I was scheduled for a physical appointment. Not only did I wait over an hour and a half past my scheduled appointment to be seen (which is the norm in his office), but I had to deal with extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour. Coincidentally, I was also sick with a nasty chest cold and asked him if he could please check it out since I was already there. He barely listened to my chest, didn’t look in my throat or anything. Completely disregarded it. Then as he was preparing to give me a breast examination, I attempted to tell him about a persisting pain I’ve been having in my breast for the past few months and he interrupted me abruptly, and snapped at me to say he would only deal with two problems at a time, even though my pain I was trying to tell him about was in the part of my body that he was about to examine! He was so nasty with me that he actually made me cry. I was extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed. And then he told me my cold was just a “case of the sniffles”.... well I actually didn’t have a runny nose at all, it was only runny because he made me cry! Fast forward to two weeks later. I’m still sick, and I’ve gotten everyone in my family sick. I now have pneumonia because Dr. Mare refused to check out my cold. My mom and her boyfriend just got back from the walk-in where they were given antibiotics for pneumonia as well. I am very disappointed in Dr. Mare. This isn’t the first time I (or other members of my family) have experienced his abrupt behaviour either. He is always very behind on his appointments and then just rushes you through.
Another story... a few years ago, my husband went to see Dr. Mare for a work accident on his knee. Dr. Mare insisted that it was just bruising and refused to investigate it. My husband still has pain in his knee to this day.
My mother complained of a foot pain and she can barely walk. For over two years Dr. Mare insisted that it was arthritis... well now she has finally seen a specialist and will be going for a foot surgery.
I think I’ve had enough, it’s time to look for a new doctor!!!

Dr. Mare is fantastic. He answers questions and his check-ups are always thorough. He has a good sense of humor, but doesn't make light of things you feel are important. The wait times are long, but that would be at any clinic! Remember, if you don't like a doctor, you can always quit and find a new one...good luck with that! ;)

First off the staff are friendly but it is a busy office with so many doctors there, but I find them to be friendly and engaging. Yes the waits can be long and it can be frustrating but these days I think its part and parcel of seeing a doctor - I have not found it to be different anywhere else. I disagree with the statements made that Dr Mare doesn't refer to specialists - that hasn't been my experience at all - in fact after not feeling to sure of a diagnosis from a dermatologist he sent me to - he referred me to another one for a second opinion. I have been scared of Doctor's my entire life - not with Dr Mare - I actually am shocked that some criticize his bedside manner as I find him hilarious - but maybe some struggle with the direct nature. I find him to be thorough honest and knowledgeable. I cannot stress how honest he can be - and sometimes its a hard pill to swallow but I'd take the truth over aversion any day. I am honestly very thankful that he is my Doctor.

A to the point, by the book, and test thoroughly doc. I like his sense of humour but others may not. He says things in an odd way eg. you owe me 29 pounds, again I like it. I really wish he had checked the right dosage for a med: created a condition that has gone on more than 6 months & counting. He is quick to acknowledge progress in lifestyle changes and never hectors. Bottom line: competent and caring.

Very knowledgeable and concerned. Has a very thorough approach to the point of running tests again. He makes a point of of being proactive but does not bully me into meds I feel are not worth the side effects. Keep it up Doc.
