I have been going to Dr. Chan for several years. For several years I have had one liver enzyme very elevated. I have asked her numerous times why this would be. She has never given me an answer or sent me for testing to see why this would be. I do not drink alcohol in excess. I am very physiclaly fit and not over weight. I had my yearly exam with her booked in Dec. 2023. When the date came up, she had gone out of town for a month! With no notice to me. I called several times and left messages. I did not get a return call. I finally decided to find a new doctor. With one full spectrum blood test, once again, my liver enzyme was elevated. With this, my new doctor has already sent me for a US of my liver, (I have hemangiomas on it, benign tumours hopefully), Ca markers blood work, a chest xray, MRI of my liver scheduled, mammogram scheduled and a gastro colonoscopy consult scheduled. In less than a month of seeing my new doctor. After years with Dr. Chan, I was never sent for further investigation of my elevated liver enzymes. Note: I have had cancer in the past. She just tells me to take probiotics and I'll be ok. She will not renew prescriptions from a pharmacy by fax. She wants you to come in so she gets her appointment payment. I decided to leave her and have found a much more dedicated MD. When I asked her to have my records transferred to my new MD, she did fanally call. To ask for $175! Terrible doctor.

I’ve been seeing Dr Chan for quite a few years and have always thought about changing doctors. She is not thorough at all. She has even asked me if I “want” blood tests. You’re the doctor?!! Now she will not fax in my prescription refills to the pharmacy because she is overwhelmed with faxes and just can’t keep up. She would rather her patients come in to see her every 3 months to get the prescription. I asked 5 different people how their doctors handle that. They all either said their dr gives them a year’s worth or they fax the pharmacy. How come those drs have no problem keeping up?? She needs extra help, not just her husband who is her “receptionist “ and complained at great length to me on the phone about how they just sit idle with no patients, but are overwhelmed with faxes. Figure that one out. I have found a new doctor.

She may be having a Nervous Breakdown? Freaked-out, told me get another doctor & hung up on me! Kept telling me how overworked & anxious she was, as well as 100's of FAX's piling up, that stressed her out. It takes approximately a wk to get her to FAX my Pharmacist. A professional should NOT be dumping her personal problems on a patient! (Her husband does the same to me when he is there.) She took my blood pressure maybe 5 times in the 10+ yrs I have been with her. (Procrastinating finding another doctor.) For 6 mons I told her of pain in my leg, & she shrugged her shoulders & said it probably was just arthritis, & didn't even examine me! I had x-ray with another doctor showing that I need a knee replacement!!! (That puts me 6 mons behind in the Waiting -List for surgery!) I had to spoon-feed her as to what to do, i.e. What prescriptions I needed, where we were with my treatment, what did doctors I saw @ the hospital wanted her to do with me, why Orthopedic Specialist wouldn't send her copies of his treatments (How should I know?), etc. She has had approx 4 receptionists in the past year. It is a blessing in disguise that I go onto another doctor.

She is a very nice person, but lacks a lot of knowledge about conditions. Questions go unanswered and it is easy to feel like your health concerns go unheard.

Dr. Chan has been my doctor for my entire life and has been very helpful for all of my health related issues. I have absolutely no complaints.

Dr. Chan has been my physician and two of my children’s physician for many many years. She is the only doctor I have ever had who is not afraid to refer me to a specialist. Lately I’ve been having a medical problem and she is the only one who has come forward to help me! I visited two emergency rooms and they suggested I make an appointment with my cardiologist whose receptionist was very rude and said I would have to visit my family doctor. Thank you Dr. Chan for always being attentive and empathetic.

My husband and I have been a patient of Dr. Chan’s for almost 20 yrs. she has always been very knowledgeable and asks a lot of questions when We have a concern. We have never had an issue with her professionalism, if we need a referral it’s always taken care of in a very timely manner. I find she is honest and will tell you like it is.

Dr Chan is very knowledgeable if you communicate your symptoms to her well she is able to give a diagnosis right away and is not afraid of giving you a treatment course. She’s also very helpful and doesn’t waste time if she feels you would benefit from seeing a specialist she gets you added right away to the wait list. I’ve been told you have to wait a long time for any specialist but with Dr Chan being decisive and admitting when she can’t explain causes, she refers you right away. I’ve never waited more than 3 months to see who I needed to see. She’s willing to push for you and get the help you need. She’s also great at telling you the truth ie when you need to fix your health through diet/exercise vs medication.

I have been seeing Dr. Chan for 18 years. I trust her. She listens. She knows my family and asks about how it impacts my own medical condition. She has made referrals as necessary. She always wants to know what is going on with follow up and if a referral doesn't send her a report she will demand it! I will be devastated when she retires.
