One of the kindess, compassionate, concerned, intelligent Doctor ever! I have recommended him to my gym friends and they love him too! Listens, answers ALL your questions and never rushes you. Too bad there aren't more like him! Healthcare would actually work.

I have seen Dr. Toronto for 28 years and he is the only Ortho I have ever seen that doesn't go right to a surgery recomendation. I have seen him for Achilles problems, tennis elbow, dislocated right shoulder, right knee, and calf issue from running and Russ has been extraordinary! I won't see anyone else!!!

I visited Dr. Toronto for problems in my knee and wrist, both of which he diagnosed as tendinitis. His treatment suggestions consisted solely of steroidal therapies, which I received - two cortisone injections, and three prescriptions for prednisone. None of these proved effective for me. No specific suggestions were made with regard to exercise habits or other lifestyle habits. I was told to "cut back," but little else. Physical therapy was NOT recommended by Toronto, although after getting a second opinion, that's exactly what I'm doing and it's working quite well. The steroids from Toronto didn't. In addition, I should mention that the wait times were very long, especially in the afternoon. I had four visits at Toronto's office, and I had to wait about an hour each time on average. I also had issues with the office's billing department, which apparently doesn't communicate well with Toronto's office, and sent me bills for multiple visits that I had already paid.

Dr. Toronto is the best sports medicine Dr. around. I had tailbone pain and went to two other doctors who were on my insurance. After an xray and mri four doctor visits and a year of pain, I went back to Dr. Toronto even though he was not on my insurance anymore and within three weeks the pain was gone. He has also helped me and my kids with various other injuries. I an a long distance runner, biker and triathlete. My boys are swimmers and soccer players. He is the best!

Doctor Toronto is the best sports medicine doctor I've ever found. I'm part of a running club and everyone in my club swears by him. Like some others said here, I'm surprised by the one negative comment here because from what I've heard from everyone else who's ever been to him is that surgery is always his LAST option. He's a marathoner who knows how much his active patients love their sports and his main goal is to get you back out and active as soon as possible. If you're in a crunch to get into him for an upcoming race or event he will even get you an appointment sqeezed in. Wonderful doctor!

I had a problem with pain in my foot that an orthopedic surgeon said was due to how the bones in my foot were structured. I thought that was odd since the onset of the pain was immediate and intense and why would it start like that if my feet had always been the same. Dr. Toronto diagnosed intratarsal bursitis and was able to treat me with cortisone shots. By following his advice and avoiding tight fitting shoes the problem has cleared up completely. He was very helpful and took a lot of time explaining what was going on. He also helped my son with shoulder pain by giving him some exercises to even out the muscle tone in that area. My cousin is a Dr. also in Sandy and highly recommends Dr. Toronto and has had many of his family members get great benefit from his skills.

I'd never think about going to a different orthopedist. As opposed to what a previous poster wrote, my experience is the LAST thing he ever suggests is surgery. I know 4 other of his patients, including my wife, and they all love him. He treated my daughter too.
