I went to Dr Rudan for a second opinion on a second revision knee replacement.1st one put in crooked
at another Hospital.He was great at first did my 2nd revision within month.
Went well for about 5 months then the pain started. I had an opinion from another Orthopedic surgeon because he said theres nothing wrong.The second opinion doctor said it's off alignment.
Dr Rudan told me it's all in my head and said that in his clinic notes.
The second opinion was from Sunny Brook Hospital and was confirmed was off alignment.
Surgery was done and bacteria was growing on my prosthesis. So iam very grateful FOR Sunny Brook taking such great care of me EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNERS AND STAFF. I went through 2 years
Of pain before I could get redone correctly. I was disappointed he was a good doctor until things went wrong.

Anyone who was scheduled to have surgery with this fool and was cancelled because he retired dodged a bullet. 1st he misdiagnosed my shoulder issue and completed an unnecessary surgery, then he totally screwed up my mothers hip replacement; she suffered from that till the day she died, then he proceeded to screw up my mother-in-laws knee replacement and then he screwed it up the second time. When she had it done the third time with a new surgeon it literally fell out in his hand. He was unable to explain how she was even able to walk on it. His retirement is no loss to Kingston.

My wife was refered to this doctor for knee surgery last spring and was told it would be done this fall, he retired just before her surgery, this was her third surgeon and the new one won't even communicate a rough idea when which means she waits and waits, it's been almost 10 years of waiting, don't take on patients when you are about to retire and put them at the bottom of another doctors waiting list, deplorable behavior.

Prior to any appointment, my knee was in so much pain, I could barely walk. Upon seeing Dr. Rudan , I remember what he said to me, " we'll fix it" and he did. I carry on with day to day life like nothing was ever wrong with my knee. That was back in 2018, I have since had my other knee replaced in 2020 and I am so grateful....I have the utmost respect for Dr. Rudan, I believe in him, I trust him....Thank you for giving me life back.

5 years ago I was having very bad hip pain. I went to a surgeon in Mexico who prescribed a total hip replacement. unfortunately my schedule did not allow sufficient healing time before returning to Canada. he did however give me a reference letter to give to OHIP. I contacted OHIP and they recommended KGH. I saw Dr Rudan at KGH and we discussed the surgery and I decided to have it done. Shortly after the surgey I began having hip pain strong enough to afect my ability to do simple things like dressing and my hip either clunked of squeaked on standing and gave me great pain. I mentioned it every follow up visit but the residents assured me that it was normal and would go away. Despite requests I never saw Dr Rudan again and I have crippling Pain for 5 years.
I have tried physiotherapy Twice for 3 months each time as was recommended by my family Dr to no avail
I recently pestered Dr Rudan enough to see me about a month ago. He said at the time that I had a hernia and tohave my family Dr schedule and treated for it
It was a completely wrong diagnosis. I am now left out in the cold with no one to treat me.
DO NOT GO TO HIM OR KGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent doctor. Gave me a new knee so l could go back to work . I suffered with pain for years. I wore a custom brace for years. I had it operated on when I was 19 years old and they put a pin in it. I had it replaced when I was 58 years old. Dr. Rudan. is truly great dr.

Dr. Rudan gave me my life back! for most of my 20's I couldn't walk without crutches and even then not very well. My knee was fused at a 45 degree angle and my surgeon in Toronto who is world-renowned, couldn't help me and not for lack of trying. He sought the opinions of other surgeons in his travels ( he taught around the world) but they all told him the same thing, not to touch me for fear of making me worse but this Surgeon in Toronto still tried to no avail. Then in my late 20's I saw Dr, Rudan on TV talking about computer-assisted surgery. Long story short I made the almost 4 hr drive to see him and Dr. Rudan fixed me!!! I have been able to walk ever since with NO crutches. that was over 15 yrs ago and i'm still great! I now see him once a yr for him to keep his eye on me and also if God forbid I need surgery again, I won't need to be on a waiting list to see him. The long drive to see him is a small price to pay to have the most brilliant surgeon I've ever known! Like I said he gave me my life back and i am very grateful! There are no words! I believe it was truly a miracle that I found him especially since my Surgeon in Toronto, looked high and wide for an answer and could find none, Dr, Rudan is the only Surgeon for me. I would NEVER see anyone else!

I had a knee surgery with this person and what a mistake that was after 4 I went in for another only to come home and 10 days later to have a massive stroke I was 36 at the time and mother of 4 so I’m sorry but I don’t have good things to say about him BUT know I’m with Dr. Campbell and trust me he is perfect in every way bed side manner and seeing him before and after and during my stay in hospital he was there all I can say is do your research before having surgery and make sure your surgeon isn’t tired like rudan was when it was my time Thanks for messing up my life just saying

Dr Rudan is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. My experience with his staff, with the hospital and with the results from the resurfacing of my hip exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend him.
