Dr H was my family dr for over 21 years the only issue I ever had with him was he didn’t respect anyone’s time and would be late by over an hour sometimes with zero apology .. however Dr H doesn’t like when people come in self diagnosed and maybe that’s why you’re all upset that he told you the opposite of what google told you or what you thought you already knew

This was the worst physician I've ever been to. He had atrocious bedside manner and was belittling. All I wanted was a cough suppressant for symptom management because I had a vacation planned with many activities and he said I should get tested for asthma because it's not cold season. I am a healthcare professional and know for a fact I don't have asthma. He barely asked me what symptoms I had. This was the first time I rated a doctor because the interaction was a joke. If I could rate him lower with no stars I would.

He was belittling. I went in with what I believed was pneumonia or bronchitis. He ranted at me that I'd had asthma my whole life and that all children who get pneumonia like I did actually all have asthma!!!!!! Simply not true.
He listened to my lungs and heard the serious wheezing and told me I needed a puffer. I have two children who actually do have asthma. Their symptoms are totally different from mine. I explained that to him. He told me I am the reason they have asthma in the first place.
I was also passing a kidney stone as I have passed them before. He checked my urine and said there's definitely a problem there. I asked to see see a urologist. He berated me for coming to the clinic with two separate issues and would not give me a refferal because he said he'd already given me a referral about the asthma. I said I don't think its asthma and I'd prefer the urologist as passing a kidney stone is more painful than the pneumonia I'm choking on.
He went off about how much time it takes on his computer to get a requisition going.
Then he made a derogatory comment on how did he say "my menses"
He told me to get a family physician if I have this many "problems".
I explained the shortage of doc is Vernon and he responded "that's because the BC govt doesn't care"
I left feeling belittled. I was crying when he bitchex at me that I'd taken up too much of his time.his rant about ashtma connected to pneumonia was not accurate as I looked further into it. There is a correlation but nothing difinitive. And certainly nothing to tirade over.

This doc is now in Vernon BC I believe. I went to see him for a suspected pneumonia. Gave him my credentials as a health care worker, why I though I might have pneumonia (I had had an exposure) and reviewed my symptoms with him. He proceeded to go off on a rant about asthma and the meds I should be on. I informed him I had seen a specialist and the specialist felt I was fine without regular puffers. He then went on a loss by ramble about not prescribing antibiotics. Since this is information I already know and he is missing the point because I had all the symptoms and an exposure. Finally I told him I felt like he had prejudged me and maybe he should use the devise around his neck (stethoscope)and listen to my lungs before he tells me I don't need anything. Yup sure as can be left with a script for antibiotics. Hope he feels like an idiot! Doubtful though

Can't believe this guy was allowed to practice, he actually had the nerve to discussed death panels with me over a cancer test and how much it would cost and how i just wasn't worthy of receiving such treatment. Can you imagine your doctor saying such a thing. He's prescribed a medication that has caused me to be histamine intolerant and turned me away just as i sat in his office breaking out into hives, i would later be rushed to the emergency after going into full anaphylactic shock. Not once did he ever perform a full check up. Doctor visits became oral lectures and nonsensical prattle on his part. Thank goodness he is retired

Cant wait until this dinosaur retires. He is friendly, good for a chat. When it comes to actually helping you with a problem you have, you better hope you look unhealthy. If you are "SUPPOSED" to be healthy, he has nothing for you. Been suffering for years with leg and foot problems, absolutely no help from him. Maybe I should get more exercise he suggests...Yeah, I am sure that is what I need, considering I work in a very active environment, and the very physical work I do is likely the culprit. Crossing my fingers that the new doctor can help me in time and that I have not hurt myself further not getting another opinion in the meantime. He should have retired long ago, about when he stopped giving a carp. Wish I wasn't in the position to "be grateful to even have a doctor"

My mother went to the after hours clinic where he was the doctor because after a bad cold she had her voice was still hoarse a while later. He decided that her voice was due to her smoking and refused to listen to her. When she went to another doctor a few months later she found out it was actually a bacterial infection. I am a firm believer that opinions are valid but should not interfere with your treatment of others, ESPECIALLY if your chosen career is in medicine.

Dr Hunsberger is the best doctor I have come across when I hear friends of mine speak about their doctor I am thankful to have him some people may think his personality is off the wall at comments that he will make but he is extremely thorough never has there been a time where I go to him with something and he will explain it in detail and talks about past medication and procedures and present ones he is very knowledgable and personal I am extremely sad to see him retire I can only hope the new doctor I receive will be half as good as Don

I found Dr. Hunsberger to be very rude and obnoxious at my visit. I had a simple ear problem and never once did he ask me to explain how I felt. He only went by the nurse's typed comments, and barely peeked in my ear before telling me that i had a cold (I didn't) and that my children had given it to me (they haven't had any for months), and he simply refused to listen to me. He made me feel like he had no time for me or my problems, and I was too dumb to even know when I had a problem. Sometimes you get a doctor that you feel listens to you and values what input you have, and you can have a working relationship. Dr. Hunsberger is not one of those.

Everyone here is professional and they really try to go above and beyond the normal call of duty. Dr. Hunsberger looks into not only the immediate concern but also the route issue. We find that everyone has a great sense of humour which really helps in stressful times. We have been patients for 15 years and have always received top notch care. I think that Dr. Hunsberger's wit may be lost on some of the poster's below. All of the staff display professionalism and really care about their patients. We value our relationship with our Doctor. Thanks for a great caring practice!!!!!
