Calls everyone fat when they aren't. Looks at stretch marks and says "don't those embarrass you"

Despite a family and personal history of migraines with aura, Dr. Wells prescribed me with a birth control pill containing estrogen that is contraindicated for people with migraine with aura as the risk of stroke is known to be greatly increased. I was not even made aware of this risk by Dr. Wells until seeing multiple other medical practitioners who advised me of this fact (thank god!) and told me to get off it asap. Upon discussing this with Dr. Wells later, he initially tried to deny claims to the risk and finally agreed that it was probably safer to be off a medication containing estrogen. This is just one of many examples where Dr. Well's medical opinion has been questionable. I find he is very quick to jump to ‘easy’ conclusions without fully listening to his patients concerns rather than doing a thorough investigation prior to drawing conclusions. However he is more than willing to make you aware that we are in a public health care system and therefore has to ration medical care accordingly. I am not impressed with his standard of care, or lack thereof.

I've been with Dr. Wells for about 15 years. He's a good listener and always does what he can whatever the circumstances: offers solutions, recommends specialists. When I read many of the comments here, what I'm seeing is the result of not having enough doctors in London. As well, people should keep in mind, that his lateness is directly related to him taking time with patients who need it despite going beyond their appointment time. This is a good thing in a doctor.

I used to see Dr. Wells when I was younger. I recall when I requested birth control my step mom had told me that she didn't want me on a certain kind and despite telling him that he wrote me a prescription for said brand. When we went back and explained that it contained a diuretic he wouldn't believe us, after some back and forth he reluctantly checked and realized we were correct. Beyond not trusting our word he even belittled us, just rude.

My son and myself were with Dr.Wells for over 10 years, we left his practice due to apt availability and location. I was across the city so I went with my fiances Dr. I can say that was a mistake. I was hoping he would take us back after meeting our new Dr and he wouldn't. Dr.Wells was always caring, professional and empathetic to us. His girls at the front desk were always amazing, chatty and patient! We both miss this practice and regret our decision! We wish Dr. Wells the greatest success!

It depends what staff is on hand. Lorraine is absolutely wonderful -- can't say the same for Maggie. Hardly ever got to see him on time even when there was no one else in the office. I believe that Dr. Wells is a pill-pusher. Seems reluctant to refer someone to a specialist even when asked. Likes us to think that he knows EVERYTHING.

I had had Dr. Wells for many years and then he took my husband on as a patient. As he became busier, an appointment to see him was almost impossible. He charged my husband $60.00 for missing an appointment - he has dementia! I finally left as I was "done" with the attitude of Maggie. Boy, is she on a power trip.

Dr. Wells is a very competent physician. He always takes the time to explain things in context of the overall health picture. Over the course of many years, under his care, my health has improved significantly.

The last five times that I have needed to see him it has taken over a month to get an appointment and the last time I went he was 50 minutes late to see me and didn't even have the decency to apologize for the wait. He keeps sending me for the same tests over and over even though the tests always come back "normal" according to him.
