Terrible doctor. Glad she’s retiring because we don’t need family doctors like this in the world.

Dr. Hoyer is OK but the staff at West Glen Medical are HORRIBLE. First good luck getting through on the phone. Automatically put on hold and it often goes to a fast busy and hangs up. Everything is an inconvenience to the women answering the phone. They don't have answers to routine inquiries. They won't accept anything over email (i.e. blank documents) - seriously - who doesn't have email these days? This office could use a office manager to sort out the inefficiencies and customer services issues. Seems to be a common trend for quite a few years.

I have been seeing dr hoyer for probably 20 years. She is one of the very best doctors in the world! she listens, she is real, she is knowledgeable. She refers to only the best, I dread the day she retires, she is irreplaceable. I absolutely love her.

My daughter and I have been most fortunate to be Dr. Irene Hoyer’s patients for almost 20 years. She is so very qualified, and a nicer, more caring person you will not meet. The fact that Dr. Hoyer wants more than anything to help someone is so evident in her patience and compassion. She is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Most certainly, Dr. Irene Hoyer is dedicated and wants to do the best that she can for you, and will give you special extra time whenever possible. She is kind, generous of spirit, and an angel in disguise. It is a privilege to have her as your doctor.

Dr. Irene Hoyer is spectacular. Her staff suck. They are rude, make scheduling mistakes (which then could cost you $$$ because of missed appointment fees), and worst of all they don't care about their jobs. This office needs to clean house.

I was a patient of Dr Hoyers for 25+ years. Every Dr is supposed to give their patient 30 min appointment times. With Dr Hoyer I was put in a room sometimes the nurse took my vitals sometimes not but if Dr Houer did she would do them sit in the chair and bring out her prescription pad and give me my refills for ev 3 months. If I had something new to ask her it was like I was inconviencing her. Once I told her I felt as though I had a bladder infection again she did no exam nothing but gave me pills ! Wtf !!! Then off she would go to her next patient I would get 15 min of her time literally should of been a 30 min ! No wonder they can holiday and go everywhere their hearts desire and build a huge mansion in the country ! She is not giving the allowed time to her patients ! Making her millions. For years it was go see her get pills go home when finally I said you gotta do something more I cannot live like this no more she would say she would send me to a specialist then her office staff would either forget to make the darn apt or forget to phone and tell you the date and time. Julie her receptionist is the worst ever and is so Rude its nuts ! How dare she !
My condition continued to get worse instead of better I could not work I had a hard time walking or going up stairs the pain was horrific Dr Hoyers solution was stronger pain medication. When I told her after using it for awhile it did help with the pain but it made me so drugged up I almost burned my house up cause the meds was so strong I fell asleep. I found myself now addicted to this drug and told Dr Hoyer I thought I was addicted to this drug her reply was I was wondering when you were going to tell me this you've been on it long enough .. What the hell is that ! Omg. Im now on a lower mg and take it once not 3 times like im supposed to but I can at least function to a point. I asked Dr Hoyer about AISH because I couldn't work she did all her power to tell me it was too much paperwork and that Id never get it anyhow. You have to apply for CPP first and Dr Hoyer sent in incomplete files to them and Aish so I got denied for both because of her lack of info on the forms. I know she is busy but she takes your files home to work on them and her daughter Clair helps with the scripting. Which is a all together diff issue I have. I asked for a second opinion stating I didn't think Dr Hoyer listened to my concerns she was so busy. That made her so angry my next visit she told me to find another Doctor ! After 25+ years how the hell do you find a new Dr especially one who doesn't know you or one that will give you the same narcotic drugs Dr Houer had you on. I was and am still devasted over this. Plus her lack of incompencies on my CPP and Aish haunt me still to date I am still trying to correct her mess. When a Dr dismisses a patient they are supposed to help you find a new Dr not just throw you to the wolves I got no help. And when I asked for my medical files I was told it would cost a dollar a page ! Wow ! I got the complaint papers for Alta health psyicans and never sent them in as I liked Dr Hoyer had I known what things would still be like to date Im regretting I never filled them out ! You just don't do what she did to me she's the professional !
End of my very valid rant Dr Hoyer is a shitty Dr !

Irene had been my Dr for over 27 years. I fractured my back in 3 places in a veh accident and saw her regularly up until 6 months ago. She sent me for injections after injections tried this and that Mri's Ct scans told me nothing showed on any of these. Sent me home with pain killers and sleeping pills. When I would ask her why it hurt so bad all the time she would just try another pain med. never once was I refered to a back Dr or a arthritis dr as now my back and hips are full of arthritis making walking almost impossible to walk far. Her reply was nothing shows on the xrays.
I was hospitalized for something different and overheard the Dr's talking about the herniated and buldging discs in my back but when I asked my Dr she said there weren't any. I drove a bus and because of the justle and bouncing of the bus I cannot longer do that with my back and hips. I asked Dr Hoyer yo fill out papers for Aish for me and her reply was its alot of paperwork and that I would never get it. Well report got done she said pain was mild to moderate and I got turned down.
I explained to aish I wanted to get a second opinion that I didnt think Dr Hoyer really listened to me.
WHEN I WENT TO SEE HER NEXT TIME DR HOYER WHO I SAW FOR OVER 27 years GAVE ME MY PRESCRIPTIONS GOR 3 MONTHS AND SAID TO ME " YOU HAVE BEEN TALKING BEHIND MY BACK AND SAYING NOT TOO NICE THINGS ABOUT ME " I THINK YOU BETTER FIND ANOTHER DR ! She got up and left the room.
What DR Does that ! I was tramatised that was months ago and I still havent found a family dr ! She doesnt Care about her patients im proof of that !

Dr Hoyer has been my physician for about 15 years and I am sad to say that I have decided to seek a new family physician after I was told my diagnosis and because she didn't know what to do, she has advised me to look it up on the internet. I was very disappointed. I am now seeing a new Dr who is treating me. I will not go to see Dr I Hoyer again.
