1. Timeliness. Dr Washinsky & his staff show up late. Dr Washinsky's staff truly incompetent to include both Receptionist & Nurse. Both Receptionist & Nurse extremely haughty not explain anything they are doing when working with Dr Washinsky's patients. I have never interacted with the Accountant. Based off other two staff members, I would say incompetent.
2. Medical Competence. Dr Washinsky only checked my Thyroid nothing else. Every Doctor that I have dealt with assessing me as 1st time patient, does a complete health assessment. This health assessment includes a Basic Chem Lab or a Comprehensive Lab Test. All Doctors evaluating a 1st time patient do Comprehensive Lab Test. If Dr Washinsky had done a 1st time patient health Comprehensive Chem Lab, he would have found my CKD Stage 3B. CKD is now in addition to all of my other health challenges.
2. Billing. Dr Washinsky's Office double bills his patients. Once the Insurance pays his office, he sends the patient a bill. When you call to speak with someone about your account, the Receptionist advises that the Accountant is out & the Accountant will return the next day. When you call back the next day - the Accountant is not in again. The Receptionist advises that the Accountant will be in next day. Played that game for 6 weeks.
3. Medical Records. Dr Washinsky won't give you a copy of his medical notes which are about you. When the Receptionist was asked why you cannot get a copy of your records, the Receptionist states that is what Dr Washinsky wants. No medical records with his notes are given out to any patient.
4. Lab results. Good luck on getting a copy of any lab result from Dr Washinsky or his staff. And be ready for a Drug Test (Urinalysis) to be conducted. No you will not be told why you are giving a urine sample. Then get ready for the $750 Laboratory processing bill - with your portion (copay) of the Laboratory Test being approximately $85. And no the local Quest Diagnostics was not used. Quest is right around the corner. This was sent out to a Birdrock Laboratories, San Diego, CA. I was billed and never advised of the result. When I asked for the result, I was told by the Receptionist & Nurse that I needed to call Birdrock Laboratories to get the lab result. I was being seen for my Thyroid - Sythroid was my medication. I did ask for two medications to be refilled. I am on a laundry list of medications. A drug test? And Dr Washinsky never told me why I was giving a urine sample? Two months later still no result on the Urine Testing? When I asked about why two months for a result, I was old to get my own test result from Birdrock Laboratories? Going to San Diego, CA for a drug testing lab when Quest Diagnostics here in Las Vegas, NV can do the Drug Testing here? Sounds like a kick-back or he has stock in Birdrock Laboratories. I have worked for two Government Contractors here in Las Vegas, NV who had a serious Drug Testing Program. I have been drug tested at least 50+ times in 12 years. These companies did not use a San Diego, California lab to get results.
5. Mannerisms. Dr Washinksy's dress and appearance is less than professional. In all of my years of being seen my medical professionals, Dr Washinsky is the worst dressed Physician. The picture of him on the Web, you won't see him looking that good. When he walks into the Examination Room (about the size of a broom closet), you will think who mugged the Doctor. From my Law Enforcement//Security Background Dr Washinsky looks like a homeless, street person. His demeanor and actions would remind one of an alcoholic. And his Office is on Tenay Way not on 9410 Del Webb Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89134

6. Facilities and Equipment. As I stated, the Examination Room is the smallest I have been in since the 1980's. Everything is jammed into this space. The Nurse was having problems getting certain requested procedures done for the Doctor. The Nurse stated that some equipment in the Examination Room did not work. The broke device costs $20 on AmThe EKG machine used is the oldest machine I have seen lately (past 20 years). A similar EKG machine like this one was being used when I deployed to the Middle East in 1998. To add to my concern, he Nurse only hooked up leads in one area. I have had at least 100+ EKG's since 1985. To add to my professional concerns, the Nurse cut herself on the razor after shaving my chest area. Her comment was, 'I always do this.' Is this person not familiar with Sharps Training? The Nurse did not were any gloves when working with me. I do not have a warm and fuzzy about the Nurse's training and competence.
Of Special Note: The clock in the Waiting Room is still on Daylight Savings Time (showing 1 hour behind the current time). When I asked the staff if they were aware that the clock time was incorrect, I just received a 'shoulder shrugg'!!

Bottomline: Pay the extra bucks and get a Doctor that will evaluate your health.

Dr. Washinsky has been my doctor for 6 years. In the past couple of years I have

experienced a huge decline in the support staff, and will now be forced to change providers.

I will also be writing Dr. Washinsky a letter explaining my decision.

I recently have had to visit the office every Friday for the last 3 weeks. None of the

visits left me with a positive experience.

1) the first visit 3 weeks ago, I waited over 1 1/2 hours before being seen. And then when

I was, he requested that I see his partner instead (and I like Dr Kahlik so didn't have a

problem so much with that). This was a scheduled appointment.

2) I called the following Wednesday to see if the results from my chest xray had arrived.

When told it hadn't, I called the Radiologist and they assured me it was faxed that day.

3) the next visit, that Friday was only a 40 minute wait for a scheduled appointment. I was

able to see Dr Washinsky. He didn't have the xray results in the file. He asked me what Rx

Dr Kahlik had prescribed, I didn't remember the name. The 2 Rx's that I had received the

earlier week were not recorded in my chart - even though they took a photocopy of the

prescription before I left. He wrote me another Rx which I immediately took to the

pharmacy. They stated the Rx had been wrote for a size that is not even made. I had to

wait for the Rx until they could reach the Dr and get the correct dosage to prescribe.

4) I called the office the following Monday to find out the results on the xray, had to

leave a message and the call was never returned.

5) I called the next day, got through but was put on hold for over 5 minutes. I explained

that I had verified the xray results had been sent to the office, and I wanted to know the

results. I was again put on hold for more like 10 minutes. When they came back online,

they stated they can't give results out over the phone. I expressed that I had been in

there Friday, and they couldn't find the results and did nothing to call and get them while

I was there. I did not feel I should have to come back in just to get the results. Again

was put on hold for around 10 minutes - finally they came back and did provide me with the

results over the phone.

6) My condition was still not clearing up, so I called on Thursday. I was immediately put

on hold, and then disconnected. I called back and received their voicemail. I left a

message that I had been disconnected and needed a call back. After several hours with no

call back, I called again and reached the voice mail. Left another message that I needed a

call back. Never received a call back. Called again, it unfortunately was 2 minutes after

closing time.

7) Friday AM (this morning) I called and got through. Again put on hold for around 5

minutes. Explained I had left messages and never got a call back, and that my condition was

not clearing up and needed to see the Dr. I was given an appointment for later in the

afternoon.

8) I was able to see the Dr within a 15 minute wait - totally acceptable. Was given another

Rx which included a controlled substance cough syrup. When I left I went shopping and

dropped off my Rx. The pharmacist said that the Dr did not date the Rx and they could not

fill it until he could confirm the date due to the controlled substance. Attempts to

contact Dr Washinsky were unsuccessful because the office had just closed (shortly after

4PM) and he does not have an answering service, only the voice mail.

Unfortunately I have to leave to go out of state Sunday AM so will now need to deal with

getting the Rx transferred to another pharmacy while I am supposed to be working at a client

site.

I have never left a review before, but really did not want someone looking for a new doctor

to go into that decision blindly. Hopefully Yelp will be used as a resource.

This dr was very unconscionable to me on a personal level- also, failed to order appropriate diagnostic tests in a serious situation on a timely basis.
