One of my friends recommended her to me when I got pregnant (around 3 years ago). She was practicing at the VMS Clinic in Mtl. She seems to be a nice person, but the clinic is grossly overbooked & undermanaged. Too many receptionists, but most very inefficient. Since I took care of myself pretty well during my pregnancy, She didn't want to spend more than 10 min with me. I even prepared all my questions ahead to help, but after answering every question, she would say, "I will see you next time then.".I would have to be firm & patient enough to tell her i have more questions. And, once the baby was born, she never came to check with me in the hospital, nor was she keen on following up with me. So, I changed doctors. But, having said these, I have to thank her for supporting my one wish - to have a natural birth without the epidural. She had informed the nurses about it, & asked my permission to use the vaccum just to get the baby's heartbeat & breathing o.k. Thanks a lot for that Dr!!

The worst doctor in my life. My child had a big head due to a brain tumor - she said we'll just wait and see, didn't even notice the enlarged head. Should have sent us for a CT right away. Thankfullyanother doctor has noticed the problem and everything has been resolved well for us. What kind of doctor doesn't know that if the head size is off the charts you are supposed to do something about it. Shame, shame.

I have to concur w/the negative reviews. She was recommended to me as being a great doctor but I never really had the opportunity to witness this. She acted more like a social worker/counselor than a physician much of the time. She struck me as being quite harried, exhausted and overall, burnt out. She virtually never asked appropriate questions regarding my health. I had multiple complications postpartum and was in emergency. She never followed up on it. Remarkable! What kind of family doctor doesn't keep track of his/her patients? I often had to bring her up to speed. As for the care of my newborn doctor, I think she is a bit dangerous. She doesn't ask the necessary questions about baby's development, tests, etc.... In the US, she would have been charged w/malpractice for some of what is going on now. Beyond this, if you have a problem, urgent or not, it is often impossible to get in to see her. And, when you do, you will wait hours. Get it together doc or get out!

Your experience with Dr.Graves depends on the day-- that's the reality. She can be wonderful and warm and quite helpful, or unbelievably late and harried and dismissive. My biggest two problems in the past have been waiting FOREVER to get an appointment (typically 3 or more months, no matter what your concern), and then having her be so dismissive of my concerns that I leave feeling like there was no point coming in. At other times she has been more thorough. Agree with another post that assesses her as seriously burnt out. She really does seem stretched beyond all reasonable limits. It's a shame because I suspect she's a great doctor and have seen this in her, but these days she seems to have nothing to give.

Dr. Graves appears absolutely, positively burnt-out and extremely unsympathetic. Gone is her compassionate side, her interest in the patient. Her tone and manner, lack of interest in diagnosing, verges on the callous if not derisive. I was astonished, sitting in shock for several seconds. Not the same person as 2,6, 10 yrs ago. I wish she would be up front with her patients.

Dr. Graves is absolutely impossible to get in touch with. As the years have gone by and the children she delivered have grown, not I nor the children have been able to see her within any reasonable amount of time. As well, good luck getting a referral to another doctor. Dr. Graves comes through eventually when a referral is requested; however, I have been waiting to get an appt. with her, and in pain for a couple months now. As well, impossible to get someone - through Dr. Graves - for my teenage daughter or son. Yes, once you do hit the jackpot and see her, she's very warm and respectful, sharing her knowledge with you.
