Dr. Raquet is a very good doctor. I'm not looking for someone to win a personality or comedic competition when I'm seeking a doctor. I want someone is smart, thorough, and very interested in my overall health and well being. Dr. Raquet is all those things.

he should go back to State College because he is not happy here. If you are thin he tends to be nice if over weight does have time of day for you. He changes his treatment options from one visit to the next.

I find most of the earlier comments way out there. My family has always found his staff courteous, helpful and very good at returning calls with resolutions. Been with him since he came to Huntingdon and have found him very rarely running late, I feel they are very good at scheduling. Myself being on Medicaid and over weight have never found the doctor or staff to be rude. My husband suffering from a long term illness has gotten a lot better care than from his former PC, and it was Dr Racquet who even though my husband was under the care of several specialist, was the first one to call his tumor location before everyone else when his blood work was off. When I ask if he'd take my elderly mother as a new patient, he said yes and at 90 she is really pleased with him also. I have found him to always be able to discuss test results and correspondence from other care providers to help relieve worry as we continue to monitor both my husbands and mommas care. As for my weight after religiously trying to counter act the big D which has never shown up on any blood work. He has left me to deal as best as I can we removing any pounds. So for my family we value his trusted, proven opinion for our proper care.

Never a dull moment. I really hoped the relationship with Dr. Raquet would be as a long-term care provider. Unfortunately, that cannot be the case. An appointment will ever be dull and you will never be quite certain what surprise will be around the next corner. Overtly caring and thoughtful, yet always quite rushed, conflicted and anxious, he can contradict himself even within the same sentence. Whether it is overwork, a capacity issue or (?), he cannot ofter recall past issues, conditions or referrals ... and when he doesn't, it is certainly not his issue. As noted, don't expect any sort of bedside manner - unfortunately, what can initially seem to be refreshingly frank or honest, can quickly turn abusive to both patient and staff. Although he seems to have his patient's interests at-heart, when further pressed, he is revealed as quite arrogant and motivated by self-interest. Overall, his behavior would be easily considered to be quite bizarre. A sad case.

I am grateful for some of these comments, as I wondered if I was imagining things! Every time I go to this Dr., he has a different personality! He can be verbally abusive and does not listen! If his patient disagrees with him, he threatens to stop seeing them. Hardly the partnership between physician and patient that he talks about! His arrogance knows no bounds. I also wonder why he has practiced medicine in so many different places?? His own prejudices certainly (&obviously) cloud his judgement. Medical care in Central PA is a nightmare!

I am stunned to read some of the overtly hostile reviews of this man and his staff. They were nothing but kind and solicitous with me. I appreciated the doctor's manner and found him to be thoroughly agreeable. His treatment of me and his advise were welcome. I found him to be a very decent and unassuming man. Having experienced him as I did, I can see no reason for the numerous reviews that were so unkind. I am happy to have him working for me. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Dr. Robert Raquet has listed as one of his interests psychology. He should see a psychologist! He is rude. It's one thing to tell a patient something as this is a doctor's job but it's the manner in which he states his 'facts'. I'm not looking for a hand holder but also not looking for a very nasty, ill tempered man with an arrogant attitude. He 'left' a prime State College practice for this! Doctors don't voluntarily leave this prime practice! His wife, Elizabeth Raquet obgyn is still with the practice in State College and Dr. Raquet drives a long distance to practice his rude nasty form of medicine. I'd look elsewhere and not permit this so called doctor to practice on a lab rat! He is openly hostile in the words he uses in describing obese people, gay people, and anyone that isn't white and of normal race and heterosexual like him. Thank God the State College group ousted him! Poor fellow had nowhere else to go!

Dr. Raquet has always been on time for my appointments and never made me feel rushed. After reading other reviews, I believe the negative feedback may be associated with Dr. Raquet's honesty. He will be honest and up front with you about your options and his recommendations. Not everyone is comfortable hearing the truth but he won't sugar coat it. I appreciate his holistic approach to healthcare and the fact that he isn't quick to push a prescription as the quick resolution to every problem. He provided me with a full list of non-medication alternatives to a problem I was having. This approach to medicine is not for everyone but it is my preference. His front office staff is okay, not overly friendly but they do return calls quickly. The nurse is nice and updates you on the status of Dr. Raquet if he is running behind. I am thankful to have Dr. Raquet in our small town.

I've only had one experience with him. There is one appallingly rude staff person. I found the doctor to be nice and thorough. I went to him because I heard that he was less about pill popping and more about healthy ways of living. I am overweight and I don't even remember him saying anything about it. Maybe he did, but obviously it didn't traumatize me.
