I had a great experience with the routine physical Dr. Balsam gave me. Dr. Blasam immediately made me feel comfortable, he asked good questions, took his time, gave me good information, and offered clear and sepcific advice. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Balsam has been my primary physician for about 16 years now and I have always been satisfied with his approach to medicine. He has always provided me with personal care and has taken the time to try to educated me about issues. I would definately recommend Bill Balsam as a primary care physician.

Our middle school had an outbreak of Whooping Couch in 2004 just after our 4th daughter was born. My 12 year old daughter was sitting in between two other students in class that were confirmed to have whooping cough. She also spent time playing on a sports team with one of those girls. When she contracted Whooping Cough we took her into visit Dr. Balsam in Eugene, OR, he refused to test her for Whooping Cough, even with these details. He was the on-call doctor for that day, we could not see our regular physician. Because of Dr. Balsoms incompetence, our entire family was exposed to Whooping Cough, as well as others in the community. The duration that we sufferred through as a family was about a month and a half. Use caution and find another doctor if you can.

Every time I have gone to see Dr. Balsom he doesn't seem to know what's going on with me. For instance, I've had a kidney condition my whole life. I understand he is not a kidney specialist, but when I went to see him about kidney pain I was having and explained to him my kidney condition he said my pain was simply a strained back muscle. Not only does Dr. Balsom seem clueless every time I have gone in the girls who work at the front desk are extremely rude. When people come in there they are already in pain and not feeling well. They don't need someone that is on a high horse to make them feel any worse. I have quit going to this office because it is overall a negative, frustrating experience.

Sometimes I feel like he doesn't take my symptoms seriously. He always gives me generic advice like "you should exercise" which is hard to do when you're sick.
