This doctor has mental health issues which should have been diagnosed and supported during her active practice years. She should have retired much before she actually did (I checked her registration status, thankfully she’s retired). Why would any clinic have her on staff, we’re they that desperate for medical staff? She’s extremely passive-aggressive and seems to think the patients input or concerns are not worth hearing. I would have loved to compare academic achievements and salary with her - would that have corrected her dysfunctional demeanour? She’s seemingly unhappy in her chosen vocation to the point of being unhelpful, condescending and denying patients of respectful good medical care. Exactly the opposite of why someone would become a physician I would think. She should have gone into research and worked solo. I hope she finds some answers in her retirement to the cause of her issues or she’ll be very isolated and alone. Why can’t BC doctors retire ‘before’ they become ineffectual and bazaar? They need to lose their need to be a martyr (our former doctor who retired at 72 should have retired 10 years prior, he did not want to be there and was really not keeping up with practice tech nor had a circle of active current colleagues). Let the younger (and differently trained) physicians take the torch. You are not ‘gods gift’ to people needing medical assistance.

This doctor is awful! We referred a client that was suffering some concerning symptoms during exercise to get bloodwork and he was accused of using steroids! Absolutely ludicrous! The doctor hung up on him and would not give him a requisition to get his health checked! UNACCEPTABLE!

I saw Dr. Arnott for a bi-annual pap test. I told her that I had very painful growths that caused me significant pain when using tampons. She acted like I hadn't spoken and proceeded with a very rough and painful physical exam. I asked her several times about them, not once did she acknowledge the question. She was fixated on talking about spotting between periods even though I told her this wasn't an issue. She appeared angry that I was asking questions and literally walked out the door and shut it in my face while I was still speaking. I couldn't figure out what I could possibly have said to upset her - but then read the reviews here. Apparently she is consistently rude and dismissive to her patients. It's unfortunate that money wins out over client care. :(

I saw Dr Arnott in Nov 2019 with a resident. She was on time, examined me along with her female resident. She wrote a 3-month prescription and referred me for pelvic physiotherapy. I will be seeing her for a follow-up appt in Feb 2020. I am shocked to see all these negative reviews. I felt at ease while she examined me, and found her to be efficient, matter-of-fact and a bit witty. I wish she would take me on as her patient as I can't find a GP in Mission BC.

She misdiagnosed me as having just a cold, told me to take Tylenol and ibuprofen and go to work the next day... I went to a different dr who sent me for an X-ray and caught my pneumonia. She’s such an arrogant person and a crappy doctor.

Sadly so many people have had the same experience as I did. I have had the misfortune of seeing Dr Arnott on more than one occasion due to the fact she was in the clinic with my doctor. One time while being ill for several days I went in to see her and she told me i had " Man Flu" and that i should go home and get over it. on another occasion i had a lump in my neck and she said it was a Sebaceous cyst. Without taking the time to describe what it was she told me if it was still there in a few days to come back. I never did. She is rude, uncaring, will tell you herself to go see another doctor. so if you can go to another doctor. Amazingly she is still practicing. Must be the money

Dr Arnott is probably the most unkind professional I have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. She is rude, condescending and very obviously does not care about her patients. It is sad that she is still practicing, my first such encounter with her was 15 years ago!

Call down to the clinic before you go, and make sure this individual is not on duty!

I have a 12-year history of 2-3 times yearly acute, severe sinus infections. I’ve been to specialists, had CT scans; beeen down every avenue both natural and medical to try find out why I get these. In the mean time, I’ve gotten pretty familiar with what works for me and what doesn’t, medication wise - and when I need to switch antibiotics because the first one isn’t working. Sometimes I do require a stronger course of antibiotics if it is particularly bad.

Enter Dr. Gail Arnott.

With this particular sinus infection, my first round of antibiotics was not working. I went down to get a different prescription, and was absolutely blown away at the degree of rudeness and dismissiveness thst this woman exudes. She treated me like an ignorant imbecile who was just there to waste her time; and became further enraged through the discussion as I asked to be switched to a specific, different antibiotic. In her incompetence, she said that what I was asking for was not indicated for sinusitis - a blatant lie.

I answered her questions and explained that I am immune to the antibiotic she instead wanted to give me, and I told her that steroid nasal sprays are ineffective for me. She was incredulous at my insolence! Believe me - the feeling was mutual!

I thought she wasn’t going to give me a prescription, but she finally handed me one for what I was asking, and huffed out of the room. Not an experience I would like to repeat.
