The diagnosis was MS. Further tests were taken, spinal tap discussed and he did not recommend it as necessary, let alone essential. Throughout the year Dr. Dhalla was quick to prescribe medications for relief of symptoms and curative where possible for amelioration of relapses.
Then after a year, something changed and his confidence in his approach showed as lacking; however rather than changing his approach or explaining any reason why his diagnosis may be affected he pushed me away, stating that once diagnosed, Neurologists do not need to continue treating or seeing patients. I asked about follow up MRIs to monitor changes (as in, was once a year sufficient or perhaps even a greater time lapse, say once every three to five years). His response was notable. He said that MRI machines should not be wasted for reconducting the same test. I waited a few years and managed as well as I could with the symtoms I had initially. Then finally, I sought another Neurologist. I was told I did not have MS. Later still, a 3rd reaffirmed again that I had neurological issues but not MS. At no time did Dr. Dhalla ever ask me back, nor wanted to see me again. I now rely on a new Neurologist.

Dr.Dhalla has been my neurologist for many years now since my first neurologist retired. I am very happy to say that I have not had an epileptic seizure for just over two years now thanks to him. He is wonderful and caring and has even taken the time to call me himself if I call the office with an issue. I never have to wait when I go for an appointment and his staff is extremely friendly.
