This guy used to be an ER Dr. In red deer. Unbelievable he is still allowed to practice medicine. He would be lucky to be a cruise ship doctor in Mexico as far as I'm concerned. I'll give one excellent example of the damage a fool with a PhD can do. Went to the Red Deer ER in 2006 with a high temp and excruciating abdominal pain. I have a history of severe pan colitis , so I thought a bowel obstruction or the like. Just two months prior I had been consulted by one of if not the best colon rectal surgeons in Alberta. Dr. John Hein. Anyone who's a surgeon totally knows Dr. Hein. No doubt !! Anyways , after Dr. Gain did a standard x-ray and told me "nothing was wrong and I should go home" I started vomiting from pain , sweating profusely and turning a bright red colour. I explained in great detail my current health and medical team in Calgary. He wanted nothing of it and told me " what can they do in Calgary that we can't do here "? A very rude and insecure little man. I refused his answer and would not leave. Pain med had almost no affect on me. He refused to treat me and left me in a hallway. Luckily for me a surgeon walked by and noticed me. Her name was Dr. McFadden. Brilliant young woman as I would discover. She examined me in the hallway were I was literally refused treatment at the behest of Dr. Gain. I told her I believe my bowel perforated by I'm not sure. I told her my G.I. was in Calgary and my surgeon was there also. Told her my symptoms both past and present. She asked me "who's my surgeon "? I told her Dr. Hein. She replied " that's my surgeon too". Then I herd her overide Dr. Gain"s orders and set him straight. Real straight! ! Within minutes I was rushed by ambulance to Peter Lougheed hospital in Calgary. Upon arrival it was found out my apendix had perforated and I was septic. And he wanted me to go home . Wow ! OMG wasy surgeon irate ! He literally called red deer and ripped him a new spine. Right in front of me. I should mention that Dr. Douglas Simmons was there in the red deer ER complying with Gain the entire time. Well ! 21 days later and flushing some of my organs I was lucky to get larposcopic surgery and stay alive. I'm sending this scathing review because I found out today that this piece of trash is still practicing medicine in red deer. All be it at a much lower level. Years later I obtained my medical records and noticed that both Dr. Gain and Dr. Simmonds tried covering their backs by lying on paper. UNBELIEVABLE !!! Total disgrace. If not for Dr. McFadden !? If not for Dr. Hein! ? I would have been sent home to die in brutal pain. No doubt about it ! I mean a ruptured apendix with temperature and septic. Thathe is basic medicine 101. How is this guy still making money ? How many other terrible things has he done that have gone unchecked ? How's that for a first review ? I'm just glad he's in my review mirror.
