Within the last few years I saw Dr. Hornby because of roughness on the backside of my one top front tooth and after he examined my teeth he told me the top front tooth had a hole on the backside. I did have some other cavities and he wanted me to go to a sedation dental office, why I'm not sure (I do have limited mouth opening and anxiety). I have since seen a different dentist and his dental assistant told me my mouth opening isn't that bad and that they have patients who are worse and can't even open as far as I can. He knew I was concerned about that tooth, so given that he knew the condition of that tooth and the fact that I have anxiety, why as a doctor would he not at least have asked me if I'd like him to at least fix that tooth being as I was already there. I ended up leaving his office with more concern and anxiety around my tooth, was not impressed! Sometime after my appointment with Dr. Hornby a piece of that front tooth broke off which has now caused me much more anxiety which I wouldn't be having to deal with right now if he just would've fixed (or tried to fix) that tooth in the first place. He shouldn't have been looking at my whole mouth and the fact that I had multiple cavities and suggesting sedation he should have focused on the main reason I was there which was because of that top front tooth. I'm now seeing a different dentist he has not recommended sedation at all and he does know about my anxiety and limited mouth opening but now that top front tooth currently has infection and is needing root canal and this all could have been prevented if Dr. Hornby would have just focused on that tooth and tried to fix it at the time I was at his office. I will never recommend this dentist because anybody with anxiety for example he'll end up making it worse!
