Probably one of the worst doctors I have ever had. My first appointment was cancelled last minute and was also left to me to rearrange. For the next appointment I received no call and proceeded to call to see what had happened. Her secretary was horrible and informed me that Dr Lopez had said she was annoyed with me which is highly unprofessional and inappropriate. After this had been sorted, I arranged an in person appointment and this was extremely unhelpful and also the way in which she treated me left me extremely uncomfortable. In the next appointment I had on the telephone with her she told me after trying 2 medications for my bowel issues that they could not do anything to help me if the next thing she prescribed didn't work. This was untrue and also conveyed to me that she had not listened to my issues and had she done more tests she would have been able to understand that I have functional issues and medication was not the best course of treatment. Since then I have been still under her care, however, she has ignored several emails from the psychiatrist at the hospital asking her to follow up with me, leaving me struggling immensely. I have now referred myself to a different hospital as the treatment she provided was terrible. I would recommend to avoid this doctor at all costs as she dragged out my time suffering and was completely unhelpful and unprofessional.

Mine is a complex case spanning 12 years so I was referred on to this lady with high hopes. She performed multiple tests and found more symptoms, all of which are treatable as laid out in the NHS guidelines. I was shocked, to say the least when she referred me to pain management and was told to carry on taking laxatives. No other treatment was offered at all which would have improved my quality of life.

I have suffered from regurgitation for many years. I have seen several consultants before. The last ones in 2006 put me on metroclopramide and doubled it in 2012. I first saw he on 31/12/2019. She immediately recognised my problem and changed my medication. Whereas, I was getting up regularly to be sick and sit quietly at night.
I no longer suffer from this problem. It has been a life changer. She follows up regularly. I can not recommend her enough.

I was impressed. It was the most meticulous doctor's consultation I have ever had.
Everyone in the Cleveland Clinic was kind, helpful, and invested in trying to find the cause of the health problems. The doctor was understanding and took her time to ask about my health history, explained what test we will perform and why, as well as what our potential diagnosis could be depending on the result and what further actions we could take. I left relieved that maybe after all the years of performing the same tests over and over again with no conclusion, someone will actually be able to help me.

Did not listen. One of the worst, if not the worst dr i have had the misfortune to encounter.
She did not listen or consider my concerns, went along with her own plan. Incredibly concerning.

I am shocked to read the negative reviews . This does not sound like the same doctor that I saw. In my experience Dr Zarate Lopez was fabulous! Extremely caring, understanding and approachable. I had to travel from Yorkshire to see her and sadly I now need my ongoing care to be more local. Thanks to Dr Zarate and her expertise, I was diagnosed with my condition after she arranged the specialist tests that I required. She liaised with other departments and consultants and arranged appointments to tie in with other appointments due to the distance I travelled and also arranged for accommodation as I was classed as an inpatient. She has also been open to having phone consultations with me and even agreed to one being recorded so that my daughter could listen to it later. More recently she had a phone consultation with me and my daughter as I had lost my voice. Thank you so much Dr Zarate Lopez.... I wish there were more doctors like you. Geraldine S

I can’t fault her, she has helped me so much. Her knowledge of my condition and the time she takes to explain it is amazing. She is caring and willing to take her time with all aspects of my care. She chases up appointments and despite the pandemic my care has not suffered. I feel she genuinely cares about her patients and she has followed me through my NJ tube insertion, following up on more than one occasion due to the unusual circumstances we are currently in. She is a credit to the NHS!

Dr Karate Lopez supervised an endoscopy for me
She was outstanding in that she prepared me by explaining the process so that I was less nervous in that I had a clear understanding of what would happen.

I saw doctor Zarate Lopez back in 2017 before being discharged without any treatment plan except laxatives which I have now taken for many years without follow up, my GP is concerned about why she never followed me up or even wrote to my GP. I am now being reffered to a gastro at a different hospital.

She seems very keen to discharge people but not very keen to listen to them and treat their issues.
