He has a terrible bedside manner, was rough with my son, and showed himself to be close minded, not up on newer research, and unhelpful. We still have no answers, and now we need to search for answers elsewhere. Stay away if you can. This person should not be working with kids

A bit rude and very little empathy. Wouldn’t share much information and oddly resistant to answering questions, even simply about which medication he was prescribing - just referred us to the nurse telling us she’d give us that info the next day. Strange when he was the prescriber and wouldn’t tell us which drug our toddler would be given. No bedside manner.

Drove 8 hours to go to the Janeway see doctor all he said was go to bed at 9:30PM even though it’s not in the slightest related to my conditions. Talked to us for 10 minutes telling me to leave my phone out of the bedroom when I sleep. Waste of gas, time and money. Not worth it.

My son is 8 and has epilepsy and has been seeing Dr. Alam for about 4 years. He has been now seizure free for 3 years thanks to Dr. Alam. Very knowledgeable and kind to my son and helpful. His nurse is always helpful as well. Would highly recommend to others 🙂

Very disappointed in his lack of knowledge of chiari malfunction for my 11 year old. Spent his 10 minute appt after a 4 hour drive telling my son to go to bed early and drink more water . His assistant was the most helpful . Not trusting of his advice at all . He didn’t even seem like he was interested in being in the room . Sad when it’s as important as a brain issue .

Always hours late for appointments even if you were the first one of the day, one time he didn’t even bother to show up and after waiting 4 hours I left. I seen him for 5 years for my Spina Bifida Occulta, he spent every appointment trying to tell me how to live my life, to remain abstinent, and telling my mom how to control my sleeping and eating habits, and to not let me have a cell phone. I heard the same thing every single time I seen him, go to bed 8pm, wake up at 6am, sleeping like this will "solve all your back problems." Suggested I try melatonin, didn’t seem to know what he was talking about at all. This doctor is a joke.

Very rude when you talk both as a patient or a colleague. It does not look like he even wants to work

I was put in as urgent as it was believed i had nerve damage from a few broke bones in my leg, and the time he did see me (couldn't be more than 10 minutes) he didn't tell me anything. The whole time trying to tell me how to live my life and telling my grandmother how to control my sleeping at eating habits, he kept repeating that i go to sleep at 9pm, wake up at 6am, saying how sleeping will "solve all your problems." I bring up how i tried melatonin but it made me super groggy in the mornings and he proceeded to tell me i was lying and that if i take it at 8pm i'll be alseep by 8:30pm (which is very incorrect, since it takes longer for it to fully process/work than 20-30 minutes. His assistant did ALL of the work, examined me and talked to me for around an hour, and she was very polite, calm, and very helpful. All Dr.Alam did was tell me to sleep at 9 and that it would solve all of my back/neck problems. one of the other pain concerns was the fact i cannot walk normally without great pain and he completely dismissed it. It seemed he had no interest, care, or knowledge about anything.

Started seeing this Doctor when I was a teenager for a rare brain and spinal condition. He didn't know much about it at all and didn't seem to care to help, he was more concerned with me losing weight at the time, and at the time I was a healthy weight and he insisted on me eating less calories and exercising more, even though despite that he would tell me I could not play sports because of my condition. He would spend the whole appointment trying to tell me how to live my life and even my mother thought it was strange and rude. I ended up having to get a referral to a neurosurgeon from another Doctor as he did not do it.
