Dr. Mailman is so thoughtful and considerate. He listened to me and really seemed to care about the pain I was in. I've been to the emergency room in many places, and this experience I had with him was the best I've ever had. I appreciate his kindness and his sense of humor!

Dr. Eric Mailman is the worst doctor I have ever seen. Like the other posting, he seemed only interested in whether or not I was/am a drug seeker. I came into the ER for Diverticulitis, which is very painfull. He did NO exam and stated that he could not treat my "pain". He turned me away from the ER. I had to go to another ER to get a CT scan and get diagnosed properly. My mom was with me to witness Dr. mailman's abuse and extreme poor bed-side manner. What a rude and horrible doctor.

Dr. Mailman was amazing and caring. I valued his opinion and felt he dutifully cared for me at my time of urgent need.

He's wonderful .. I've only had a couple emergency room visits in my lifetime and meeting with Dr. Mailman at Swedish, Seattle I will always remember. He showed such caring and compassion, and he was very detailed in my diagnosis and explaned it well so that I understood. He took the time to answer ALL of my questions. He was very friendly to my family and made us all feel less stressed considering we were in the emergency room. He was also so accessible, he met with us numerous times making us feel that we were getting the most attentive care we could get.. kudos to this Doc!

This physician 'treated' my father recently for a severely fractured rib. His immediate tack with my father was to try to deduce whether or not he was a drug seeker--understandable since emergency departments see that a lot. At one point, he muttered an "ah ha" after briefly examining his mouth and finding missing teeth. Yes, the stereotype is for "drug seeking white-trash losers" to be missing teeth and seeking drugs. My father is however an intelligent and hard working man who grew up poor and continues to be poor, not a drug seeker, just someone in sever pain and scared about it. One would think that with an obvious diagnosis like a fractured rib the physician would consider another possibility, but after obtaining the x-ray, he continued to 'profile' my father. At one point he mentioned to an ED staff member his suspicion, loud enough for us to overhear in the exam room. Perhaps the worst bedside manner I've encountered in an ED to date.
