I went to Dr. Dort for the treatment of bilateral Inguinal hernias one grapefruit sized hernia on the left side and one smaller one on right side. Dr. Dort refused to do any diagnostic imaging tests on me and ended up misdiagnosing all three of my hernias. The grapefruit sized hernia was fully incarcerated and Dr. Dort failed to tell me this information instead he told me that I could safely delay my surgery for 6 months. Additionally, Dr. Dort failed to properly diagnose my 2 other hernias. These misdiagnoses lead to a 6 hour major hernia surgery and medical expenses totaling $64,000 to repair just the hernia on my left side. Dr. Dort is an extremely incompetent and useless physician who should not be a general surgeon. The Virginia Board of Medicine refuses to take any action against dangerous and incompetent physicians such as Dr. Jonathan Dort. Do not consult with Dr. Dort if you value your health and life. This doctor should have his medical license permanently revoked.
