Amazing. After seeing 10+ other optometrists, ophthalmologists, and surgeons, Dr. Ben resolved my terrible eye condition. He listened carefully, offered multiple options and perspectives for solutions. He did not give-up even though my condition was complex. He appreciated how scared I was and was incredibly understanding and patient.

Dr. Barrus is the best optometrist my husband and I have ever seen. He truly cares about your eye health and works hard to do everything possible to offer solutions and treatments. My prescriptions are always perfect, no issues at all with this outstanding professional.

Unfortunately, the business side of this clinic is not so wonderful. Obtain your prescription and have your glasses made elsewhere, perhaps a chain clinic that will own up to mistakes and work to correct issues, at their expense, not yours.

When we are fitted for prescription glasses, we need to trust the accuracy of measurements taken by staff members. If an error is made, the onus should be on the clinic to 1. Admit the error and 2. Fix the mistake at the clinic's expense.

I finally managed to have the issue fixed at a different clinic, but at my expense. I would gladly see Dr. Barrus again for an eye examination but would not purchase glasses or contacts from this clinic again.

Dr Barrus has been me and my families eye doctor since we moved to Calgary 7 years ago, and he takes such great care of our eyes. Everything from vision to maintenance. I highly recommend Dr Barrus to anyone looking for an optometrist - he is very knowledgable about all age groups and is very kind.

Greeted by a smiling front end assistant woh never sits down! She made me feel very welcome after being referred by a GP across the hall. I was shocked to be examined by a true Optometric Professional. Dr. Barrus who was genuinely concerned about my vision problem. He took the time to explain the current problem and advised me to see my Opthalmalogist in BC immediately upon my return....very, very professional!! Thanks Dr. Barrus of SunValley Eye Care
