Very patient to listen and answer all my questions. Explained clearly about the surgery I may take and provided very practical suggestion for exercise or working if I'm not ready for the operation. Feel much relaxed after meeting him and know what kind of help I can get when I need.

The worst doctor ever seen....doesnt care about the patient at all!

I previously rate Dr.Spiess higher a few weeks after my surgery was done. But now after my 6 week follow up I have changed my rating. It was a waste of my time and it felt like now that he got paid the patient doesn’t matter. Didn’t check anything, asked a few questions and said if you want you can come for a follow up in 6 months. He is great until after your surgery.

Told me the numbness & tingling have nothing to do with my spine & he's not worried about the scolosis - as I have 3 fractures that just showed up this yr as bad lumps by my spine & he said they were "old". I have been told by 2 other specialist that my condition is SEVERE - I have no padding (cartilage) in my spine so its rubbing bone on bone. He says its all in my head! told me he has a lot of his patients are that way "in our heads". So Im to do more research - pain management- physio - been thro it all - done it all & he has offered me nothing . Wasn't even offered any non invasive help. He said if I had 1 specific issue he could help me?????
Had lower back x-rayed shows severe degenerative disc disease & SEVERE SCOLOSIS - but family doc not going to bother sending him the info because its obvious he Dr. Spiess is done with me! I am to wait till my body functions fail then I might be taken care of - in the mean time Im in pain now 24/7 & all I get is more pills more pain meds. I do think my family doc & I will b looking for another doctor - someone who cares enough to stop the pain & cares about me! Waiting 2 hrs to be seen to be told its all in my head - nothing I can do for you - basically do my own research- yup thx guess that's why they get paid the big bucks

I saw Dr. Spiess for a 2nd opinion, very friendly, highly educated and actually takes the time to listen to you. Was the 2nd surgeon with Dr. Woo for my spinal fusion and felt very secure, knowing he was going to be in the OR as well. Great Job! After 2 years of weak painful legs,I am finally progressing to a point where one day I will hopefully not need pain meds anymore.Thankyou
