He was very compassionate and professional, he spent a lot of time with me and did not rush me, bedside manners were excellent and he did not push me for any procedures that I did not need, I would rate him on a 1 to 10 level a 20 !!

I have so much respect for this doctor. Yes, he is laid-back, makes some jokes, but he cured my conditions(ulcers, Irritable Bowel Disease)and taught me a lot(lifestyle changes, keeping these conditions under control as he has, preventing their recurrence, etc.)He is brilliant, highly intuitive about medical matters, looks at the whole person not just the condition at hand,is kind, thorough, and caring. His agenda is to heal people, not to push procedures and/or pills on someone and get them out the door. He did many procedures on me,all successfully, and I would go to no other gastroenterologist. I don't say this about a lot of people, but he is a fine human being and has my total respect and recommendation as he has for years.

This MD spent over an hour wading through my complex medical history. He then suggested non-invasive tests so as not to duplicate the ones I had already had, despite the fact that he, unlike my previous consultants, lost out on the fees that procedures would bring. I am embarrassed at the little amount he actually received for my care, but that didn't stop him from calling me back at home on numerous occasions, to make sure I was following the plan we agreed on, and to see if I was OK. I would recommend him as the kindest, most thoughtful professional I ever met. He literally saved my life!

Failed to provide appropriate treatment for my child's condition. He may be okay for a standard colonoscopy, but for serious problems, I don't think he is really competent. He also talked down to me and made me feel stupid for asking questions.

I am diplomat at the UN referred to Dr by my primary MD whom I trust. He did not let me down! Dr Ben-Zvi took the time to explain what it was that was ailing me, and was happy to answer questions about data I brought him that another prominent East-side physician had performed but was too rude or busy to sit with me and explain. When I asked him to repeat the procedures to be sure, he said he felt comfortable with the reports I brought him and that it was unnecessary to do so. Athoroughly HONEST, and PIOUS man. If my colleagues behaved as he does, the UN would be a better place to work!

Extremely thorough, very professional. It's nice to have a doctor who listens, and comes up with a diagnosis, follows up and after his treatment I FINALLY FEEL BETTER!!! Superb diagnostician, warm yet not overly mushy. Can't recommend highly enough!

Unusually warm, and helpful. I was present in the hospital when a patient of one of his students was rude, hostile, and insulted the doctor personally (He is very Orthodox Jew) -- he handled the matter with cool, calm, and grace.

Extremely arrogant. Didn't inform my PCP about my condition for 3 months...when he learned I was contacting the Dept of Health & AMA about him after he neglected to file a report on my 2nd colonoscopy at Lenox Hill, and my PCP had no idea what was going on. I was awake during the 1st colonoscopy and later found my diagnosis (Gardner's Syndrome) online quite by accident. He refused to confirm my diagnosis. When I called for him to come over, so that I could ask him about what he found during my 2nd colonoscopy and to hopefully get a confirmation of what I already knew, he turned his back and walked away. 2 recovery nurses asked him to come over, & he ignored them, too. He's not fit to work with human beings. A truly DISGUSTING excuse for a human being!
