I came to Dr. Zavaro a few years ago after having had some bad dental treatment done at another office. Dr. Zavaro did a bone graft and an implant for me. He also helped me find an excellent orthodontist (I was previously being seen by someone but was very unhappy with the treatment). The implant that he did for me was one of my upper front teeth. He informed me that this is one of the most difficult places to have an implant done- there is limited bone to hold the implant and the final restoration has to be aesthetically pleasing. I am usually very nervous with dental treatment, but Dr. Zavaro and his assistant were extremely patient with me. Dr. Zavaro never did any procedure without fully explaining everything and answering all my questions. When it was time to have the final tooth cemented, Dr. Zavaro was extra careful to help me choose the correct shade for the tooth. With a front tooth, this can be VERY difficult. Before cementing, he made sure I was 100% comfortable with it. He was very willing to do anything differently if I asked. Since having the implant completed, I cannot count how many compliments I have gotten on my smile. I would STRONGLY recommend choosing to see Dr. Zavaro if you are looking for a dentist. I would not trust any other dentist with my care.

This is a great dental office. Very neat and very good services. Dr. Zavaro, is very experienced and provides quality services. I am a Canadian and went to Dr. Zavaro because I am studying at Harvard for the year. About 7 months before seeing Dr. Zavaro I attended my usual dentist of 20 years and got a clean bill of health for my teeth. Having had only 2 cavities in my life (as a child), I was shocked when Dr. Zavaro diagnosed me with 12 new cavities. Before having assessed me, X-rays were taken, and I requested that we reviewed these together. He indicated that none of the cavities showed up on the X-Rays, but he could see them in my mouth (he did not use tools to palpate the teeth to confirm his findings). I know this is possible (especially given where he thought the cavities were), but with the prior healthy exam, I was suspicious. I went for a second opinion with my usual dentist at home and got a third independent opinion... sure enough, no cavities. I know there is some clinical judgement that can lead to differing diagnostic interpretations, but I have significant concerns based on my experience.

Dr. Zavaro is the best dentist I have ever gone to. I have super sensitive teeth and my previous dentist would just tell me to bear it, every filling hurt and even a cleaning was excruciating. Dr. Zavaro has given me pain-free fillings and root canals, is very sensitive to not cause me pain during cleanings and has a wonderful demeanor. He is always punctual and you never have to wait for him when going to an appointment during lunch hour. He really empowers his patients to make their own decisions and looks out for your best interest - he will not suggest unnecessary procedures and he is sensitive to the high cost of dental work. It is important to him that he educate his patients on why is making certain recommendations, shows you your x-rays and explains what you are looking out. I have referred him to friends and they have been just as happy with him. Highly highly recommended!

Excellent,Professional, Knowledgeable. Best Ever! I have been a patient with Dr Zavaro for about 20 years. He provided incredible and comfortable dental experience through the years that I have been with him, so is the case for my family. He became my wife's dentist and my two children as well. always provided 100% attention making me feel I am the only one in office, despite the office full.He would be always concerned about our well being and spent incredible about of time for me to understand so to be less fearless and more enjoyable experience for us. The time would start by explaining the procedures, and the short/long term future effect, and the options involved. He is an amazing experienced doctor,incredibly state of the art clean office environment, state of the art latest technology equipments, very (beautiful & caring!!!!) helpful assistants. Absolutely the best experience for me on a personal level as well as on a family level.I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Zavaro for well over 15 yrs, starting at his Temple Pl office..now living in Needham I still feel that my best interests are served with Elias..he has done excellent work handling all of my dental issues (I've run the gamut)with great care, does cleanings personally, and is simply a very good and caring person. I used his recommendation for orthodontia, and his referral (Dr. Blau in Cambridge) was the best. Elias also handled an emergency for me on a Friday night when he didn't have to, and he did it with complete care..I have nothing but good things to say about this man, and would recommend him to all. Dr. Zavaro, one of the main Dr.’s in the office, is very experienced and provides quality services. He has state of the art equipment and a very comfortable environment. I have been a patient of Dr. Zavaro since his previous location on Temple Place (over 8 yrs or so). I am very much pleased with his service and professionalism. Like many others, I have a phobia of dentist visits and certain procedures. Since day one, Dr. Zavaro made me feel at ease with his sensitivity to my fears, patience and thorough explanation of procedures and its necessity. He is not only concerned about my well-being in his office at the time of visit; but also about my future implications on my oral hygiene. I've had many cleanings (done by him and not a hygienist ... which says alot!), porcelain fillings, bonding, deep scaling and was referred to a great orthodontist by him. Now, not only does he provide my routine oral hygiene care but advises me and works closely with my orthodontist to make sure that I am satisfied, content and at ease with my braces. In addition, his office is exceptionally clean, staff courteous at all times, and accessibility to him is easy.

I have been to over 20 dentists over the course of my life. Unequivocally, Dr. Zavaro is the best. Why? Start with the fact that, unlike some dentists, he will never, ever perform a procedure unless it is absolutely necessary. When a procedure does need to be performed he does an amazing job. I've needed fillings due to deep grooves in my back teeth (a genetic trait). He filled them and polished them perfectly over a long, two-day operation. Absolutely no complaints. When you go to a dentist the hygienist usually cleans your teeth, right? Not at Downtown Dental. Dr. Zavaro handles teeth cleaning himself, in order to actually get all of the build-up of junk out of your teeth. Hygienists don't have the skill to do a good job! Finally, his office is brand new, with the latest technology in dental equipment, and is spotlessly clean. Other dentists are delaying replacing equipment in this economy; Dr. Zavaro has a state-of-the-art office.
