I have been treated by Dr. McCombs on occasion for over twenty years. He performed a major spinal surgery on me that was very successful and I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else with a neurological problem. In my opinion, there isn't a better surgeon on the planet than Dr. McCombs. Having a visit with him is like seeing an old friend.

If you're looking for warm and fuzzy ,NO. If you want an excellent Dr. he is great. He is direct and straight to the point. I am also very overweight. After years of pain, no sleep, shots, therepy and medicine, the day after surgery I am pain free. I can walk and sleep, and have not had to take one pain pill. The highest ratings to Dr. McCombs and his staff. Thank you so much.

Surgery June ,2017 problem not solved. Another surgery in November 2017. Problem still not solves. He ordered mylegram w/scan and exrays Feb 2018. Had text done in my hometown. One test was incomplete so he refused to read the results from the other 2. He said when I went to HIS doctor, he would look at the results.
He acted liked a spoiled child instead of an Dr concerned about his patient. Truly disappointed with his skills and professionalism.

Very prejudice against over weight people. I felt bullied and belittled. Refused to help me unless I had gastric bypass which is not a viable option for me.

Very impressed with Dr. McCombs and staff. Herniated disc was diagnosed quickly and surgery was a breeze- nothing like I had expected. Beautiful hospital and I couldn't be more pleased- have my life back. So appreciative for this level of service.

Admitted I have a serious painful back problem that requires surgery. But, refused to do surgery because I’m over weight. He did surgery before and I weighed a lot more then. Terrible bedside manner. Getting my MRI disks and going to find someone who cares about their patients.

problem just seems to have shifted from one side to the other post-op and calling to discuss concern was a nightmare - the person who called me back (i don't even know who - maybe a nurse) just told me to take more pain pills and ignore it that it was common for pain to jump from one side to the other - I couldn't even get through to the doctor and when they agreed to set up an appt they said it would be with a nurse who would look at an xray and get the dr if she thought it was needed - all this tells me they did not even listen to me or take me seriously now im in tears and wish i'd gone elsewhere and I know that if there is a problem they'll never admit it - all they'll say is it's too soon and take more pain pills so that by the end what will i have gained if the problem was simply moved from one side to the other with them telling me to ignore it and take more pills - at this point i don't even know what to do because I know something is not right and they aren't listening to me. I'm very upset over the pain shifting to the other side and them telling ,e to ignore it and take more pills

Superior Service (Beyond the Call of Duty): In September, 2016, I became a patient for the second time with Dr. Paul McCombs. I say 'second' because over 20 years ago, he performed successful surgery to address my ruptured disc (left side #5 lumbar). I was experiencing back pain again and I needed to know what I was in for. Dr. McCombs sent me for an MRI and the result was evidence of a bulging disc...and cancer on my right kidney. Four days before my daughter's wedding, Dr. McCombs called me with the news, telling me he had already been in touch with one of the best urology oncology surgeons in Nashville and that not only would Dr. Dasari be with me all the way, but Dr. McCombs would be close by, as well. They were willinig to allow me time to see my beautiful daughter married in one of the most fun weddings ever before I went under the knife. I am more than pleased to report that this past November, I celebrated a year of being cancer-free. I have learned that my bulging disc can be managed pretty well and that Dr. McCombs is even more of a fantastic physician than I remembered over 20 years ago. Thank you, Dr. Paul McCombs, for being so very thorough. I really think you may have been the primary force behind...saving my life.
